Ok i am looking at the railfare for a 10 minute journey from the Airport on the Rail Europe website for myself and my son and it's coming in at £22.50 and the Same for the return 10 minute journey £22.50 :scared1:

That can't be the proper price can it..? £22 each way for a 10 minute journey..?

yes, thats right - and its still the cheapest way to transfer between CDG and DLP (if there are only 2 of you).

You need to remember its a high-speed train, and its not a special service to DLP, its a cross-country journey you join (even if it is for only one stop).

Would it be cheaper buying the tickets at the train station or in advance.?

The price may depend on how far in advance you purchase - I just purchased mine online at tgv-europe.com - from CDG terminal 2 to Marne La Vallee - and it was Euro 15.90. I will be traveling February.

I just paid a taxi 95euro from Dream castle to CDG and that was only a 30 minute journey...so yes, you are getting a deal!!!

I always book my tickets on the TGV at least 10 days in advance of travel, to get the cheapest fares.

I never understood why the taxi's are so expensive. Even if you pre-book a shuttle service it's going to cost at least 65€.

Seems ridiculous for such a short journey. A taxi round here (Cheshire) would cost £30 at most for a similar journey.

I think the price for the train is so expensive because the journey is only 10 minutes. You are paying for the advantage of having a very short trip without any traffic delays like you might have on the roads and that's what makes it expensive. You can't compare it with a 10 minute train ride on a local train or so... I think taking the RER through Paris is cheaper, but that takes ages! :goodvibes

A big part of the TGV price is for the seat reservation. Even though you wouldn't need a seat for that short trip, it is mandatory for all TGV bookings. Also, I think the fare calculations for the TGV are not designed for such short trips which probably don't exist elsewhere on the TGV network. So they might have some sort of base fee.
