Charging to MB

This may be a silly question, but when you charge with your MB do you get an itemized list of your charges? Do you have to go to the desk and ask for it? We usually just use our credit card, but thinking of linking our card to the MB and trying it that way this time. Seems so easy.

You used to get an itemized list of all charges before checkout. Now, with express checkout, you get it via email when you get home. But you can get a current list of your charges to date at any time by going to the front desk and asking.

The email with itemized charges actually comes early morning on the day you checkout, at least from my experience. I just checked my most recent stay and it was sent 4:53 am on checkout morning. Other recent stays have been similar. You can still charge for the remainder of the day even after getting your itemized bill.

You're not actually charging to the Magic Band itself. You're charging to your room. The Magic Band serves as a way to identify you, similar to the way the old "Key to the World" cards used to - the new bands do things like pull up your MDE account to access your Fast Passes, open your resort room door, and allow you to charge to your room. They have an RFID chip in them to identify you. To charge to your room, you need to set up a PIN number to use - that way, if you lose your band and someone else finds it, no one else can charge things without the PIN.

That's a long way to answer your question - you do get an itemized bill at the end of your stay, just as you would at any hotel where you charge things to your room.

BTW, if you're staying at an off-site, non-Disney hotel, you can't "charge to your magic band, because you can't charge to a WDW resort room.

if you choose to they will also print a copy at the front desk for you as well as the email.

Also, note that some of the places where you charge things might not seem to be what they are on your itemized bill (however you wish to look at it). We were at the Food & Wine Festival once and liked a grapefruit wine so we bought a couple of bottles at the booth and had them sent to the front of the park for when we exited. We charged it to the room. When we got the bill, the vendor was not what we expected and were quite willing to ask for an explanation. Then we noticed the date and time and realized what had happened - the independent vendor was listed, nothing with "Disney World" or "Epcot" or "Food & Wine" on it. So, if you do charge, keep in mind of when and where it was.
