Charging to Disney Hotel Key

I am traveling with my friend in November and we will be sharing a hotel room.

Is it possible for me to link my room key to my credit card and she link her room key to her credit card?

We are trying to figure out the best way to handle charges and I would prefer to not have to always carry my credit card or a lot of money with me.

Thanks!

My understand is that you cannot do this. The keys charge to the room account and the credit card is attached to that.

What you could do is attach one of the credit cards to the room and the night before you checkout get a copy of the bill and have the other person pay their share. Complicated I know but there aren't many options if you don't want to carry your credit card around with you.

This is something I've used for budgeting purposes in the past but certainly might alleviate your charge problems. When you arrive, just purchase a Disney Gift Card to carry around with you - it can be used at any place that your Key to the Kingdom card may be used. You pre-load it with a set amount and it helps to keep the cash carrying down. I usually load mine with $200.00 US (you can purchase at any ticket center) and use it to pay for meals and souvenirs :cheer2:

Thanks for the suggestion irisesareblue, this was going to be my backup plan :)

Actually unless they changed this yes you can. We have always put charging abitily on our room key and have been able to have our sons card not have charging ability, this actually states on his room key (no charging ability). If anyone can tell me if this has changed, that would be great. We are going in december.

Correct...you can have a childs card NOT having charging privledges. In fact you don't have to have charging on any of the KTTW cards.

The question that the OP is asking is if they can have separate accounts billed for herself and her friend.

As other poster said All cards for one room have to be linked to one Credit card ( but not all cards have to be allowed to charge) No charges are made to card till check out they will deliver a bill to your hotel room during your last night have your friend pay her charges before check out and the remainder will be charged to your card ( all though you require a credit card to be alowed to charge to your room you can even use cash to pay it off before you leave )

I have had experience with this, just last week as a matter of fact.

You cannot put two credit cards on the account.......BUT, you can go to the desk at anytime prior to midnight of the day before check out and pay whatever amount you would like in cash/traveller cheque or a different credit card. If there is something left on the account at check out day it will automatically go onto the card on file.

We always went down to the desk each morning, took a print out of our bill and we both paid (cash or credit card) our portion of the bill. That way each day our bill went to 0.00. This actually turned out to be very easy as each of us knew pretty much what we had spent shopping and we would split dinner charges for tip and drinks. There were a few times where one of us would use cash and the other credit card and it worked out great!

One other thing that was great, there was a discrepancy in one charge for our dinner the night before (it was actually charged to our room 3 times) and because we checked every day, we were right on top of it, easily dealt with.

Hope this helps!

You don't actually need to put a credit card down on the room to be allowed to charge to your room. You can put cash down and whatever cash you put down is the limit on the room card.

No, you can't
I just returned last nite..we were 4 in a room. Myself and my daughter, her friend, my friend. All charges had to go on one Credit Card (mine in this case) though they did say at the end of the stay they could break it up and apply to seperate cards. That would have been complicated seperating it all from the long bill so we pretty much did it as we went along.
