Charging stations in the parks

Just wondering how feasible it is to use a charging station. Wouldn't it take awhile to charge the phone? Do people just sit or stand around waiting for it to charge? I understand the need for it, but it seems like much time would be wasted, unless these are super-fast stations.

Like others have said, it depends on the usage of the phone/time

If you are already waiting, might as well charge. Or you could easily grab some food and eat while you charge.

The inside ones are also great in the afternoon when it's hot. a 30 minute break from the heat can make everyone feel better.

Just be sure not to use your phone while charging - too many people do that IMO. Turn the phone off/on airplane mode and you can get a good charge in only 30 minutes

I plugged in to the wall outlets at the exit to Soarin' while waiting for friends. It was a quiet area (and cool), I just sat on the floor against the wall for a 15-20 minute rest next to an outlet & plugged my phone in. Yeah some people gave me odd looks cause I was sitting there (mind you I was on the side & not in the flow of traffic or blocking anything otherwise I could see a CM saying something), but who cares? lol

We did this a couple of years ago, except we sat in the American Adventure between the outside doors and the rotunda. There was enough time between shows to get a decent recharge. Also used the wall outlets at Gaston's and Captain Cook's, but those were longer times for meals.
I just wasn't sure if we're charging on the fly, for say just 10 or 15 minutes, if it be worth stopping to plug in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the parks offered charging lockers you could rent. I'm not saying these are convenient, but they are an option.

I think Disney removed all of the charging lockers last fall, unfortunately.

We used a wall charger in UK gift shop, to the left of the door as you enter. We were waiting for R&C seating. I if remember correctly there were two outlets there.

At one point they removed the charging area in the Space Mountain store. Has that been put back?

A couple of suggestions.

Firstly, I believe there are charging stations at the Rapunzel bathrooms in Fantasyland in addition to the tent at the very back of Storybook Circus in MK (next to the Fantasyland Railroad Station). I also think Epcot just installed some in the old Inventions West building. Other than that, there really aren't any in the parks.

But (this is what I often do), you can also drop your phones off at Guest Relations at any of the parks or DTD (although at DTD they do it a little differently with portable chargers and the like) and they'll store it and charge it for you. I'd personally recommend dropping everyone's off just before dinner or your big sit-down meal of the day in the park, so everyone still has theirs for the lines and when walking around in case you're separated. Also, it forces everyone to actually talk at dinner!

The portable charger route can also make things easier, and they're some great ways to minimize battery usage while in the parks. Of course, turn off Wi-Fi, as your phone will keep connecting to Disney Wi-Fi, which because it's so slow, drains a lot of battery. Also, consider trying to avoid using MDE and completely close it when you're not using it. I alway take a screenshot of "My Plans" for each day, because opening up Photos uses a lot less battery than MDE. When it comes to getting wait times, easywdw.com/waits provides the exact same wait times (he literally gets them from the feed on the app). Very accurate and is so much faster, while not absorbing nearly as much battery.

DS and I noticed the area this past March. Assuming that it was working, it seems to be in place.
