Is there places at the parks where you may charge a phone at or iPad? I foresee myself using mine a lot for MDE & also taking pics so just wondering? Thank you.

There is charging station by Repunzel Tower and outlets at restaurants. Also Guest Service provide chairing service. U can leave ur devices there and pick up later.

I asked this same question a few weeks ago while planning my trip as well. My theory was that if you are dropping it off or using one of the charging lockers that Dis has available, you lose the use of your phone. What was suggested to me and I went and did was to buy a portable or external battery charger so that you can both charge your phone and continue to use it at the same time! They have them from lipstick size to the size of about a pack of cigarettes. I got a deal on essentially a 2 for 1 on amazon. I purchased a 9000 mAh (has two ports so you can charge 2 phones at once, cigarette size) and a 3000 mAh (lipstick size) for $35.00. I have been using it now and never worry about running out of battery again and it will be packed right next to my phone!

Even if you get the smaller (lipstick size) one 2800/3000 mAh it gives you at least 1 full rechage which will get you through the day when you need it and will still be able to take pictures and do the things you want without being stuck or attached to a charging post/station. If you get the bigger one then you can get 2 1/2-3 full recharges. It will also charge an iPad apparently. Good Luck!!

I agree about the portable charger. I bought a 15,000 mAh charger. I charged my sons iPhone 5 from 1% to 100% in less than 2 hours, then another 4-5 times from 20-30% to 100%. I used it to charge my iPhone 5 5 or 6 times from 30-40% to 100%. Charged my wife's iPhone 5s 3 times from below 35% to 100%. All this over 3 days and the charger still had 1 (of 4) bar left. I just kept it in my cargo shorts and charged the phones as we went.

The one I got was $40. It's probably a little bigger than I would have liked, but it was well worth it. We used our phones a lot to text back and forth as to where each other was and also to take selfies with characters.

Using a portable charger allows you to keep moving. If you have to use a charging station you are stuck there till the phone is finished charging.

I was looking at portable chargers, as well and since I was interested in using it for other reasons, I wound up buying a Mophie juice case.

It is basically an iPhone case - the phone and the case are charged through the case's cord. You leave the case switched in the "off" position normally, then switch it "on" to provide a full charge to your phone when the internal phone battery is dwindling. It increases the size of your phone, but minimally so.

I didn't know that there were charging stations now and charging services at Guest Services. Great tip!

I have brought a zaggsparq with me over the years. I have an older version that's a lot more clunky than the newer models:

Basically, you charge it in your room, and then it carries a full charge for a smartphone on it, so you just plug your phone in while on the go, and it'll charge for you.

I agree!!! We have the Anker 10,000 mAh and it was the best traveling investment I've ever made. Don't cut corners and buy the smaller/cheapest chargers...we did that and what a waste.

I love the charging capability of our Anker and we can charge 2 devices at once in my purse while we enjoy the parks without being tied down to the park, (without the phone) waiting for them to charge so we can go back and pick them up.

I saw people charging devices in the restrooms several times. I bought a 2-pack of portable chargers at Costco and never used it. I did not take many pictures or check the ap much. I don't think the one I bought would work for an Ipad though, just phones.

Also read that there are charging lockers in the MK along with the area by the Rapunzel/Tangled restrooms. Haven't found many areas in the other parks though.

There are charging stations at the arcade at Space Mountain, too. I'd let the kids play (or I'd be waiting for them to return from the ride) and charge up a little.

I had purchased an external battery for the trip, but it didn't work. (It could very well have been user error.) So, I would try to charge up whenever I could. My husband and I separate frequently (having a then 10 year old son and a 7 year old daughter) so a dead battery was not going to be good!

I would charge up at EPCOT at Test Track (there were lots of plugs near the interactive kiosks) and at the Land's Sunshine Seasons.

We weren't at AK too long for a low battery and I didn't see too many places at DHS, either.

I know the Apple tablet can only be charged, no replaceable battery, but if you are lucky enough to have an Android phone (no mention of what OS in OP), chances are you have a replaceable battery (most are). Just pop out the drained battery, pop i a fresh one and you're all set for the rest of the day. Takes 30 seconds. If you have an Apple phone also, you'll have to hunt for an outlet (same as your tablet), or carry your charging equipment and cables with you.

I like the zagg spark. I use it all the time even at home. I wouldn't be able to make it half the day at the parks without it.

And....after you have drained your portable battery take IT to the charging station....being without the battery while you have a fully charged phone to use.....by the time even an older phone needs another boost your portable battery should be ready for pick up.

Thank you for this info. I'm not tech saavy so I had no idea such a thing existed. Just checked amazon, can you tell me what brand you purchased? Thank you

sometimes I'll stop off in the back room of Tortuga Tavern. There's a round table near an outlet there. it's usually pretty quiet. Becky can hang around and trade SOTMK cards while I charge up.

You can also sit on one of the benches outside the bathroom at Pirates in MK,
and charge. There's an outlet.

Course we bring the little portable battery charger units and never have an issue.

New chargin lockers in tomorrow land. They are free, plugs for apple and android. You just swipe your credit card as your lock. Charge it as you ride a few rides there and then you are good to go!

Mophie, Anker, and Jackery are my favorite brands of mobile charging devices. Most of them, regardless of the brand, have a USB port so you can use whatever charging cable your device requires, but some do have built-in connectors - sometimes instead of a USB port, but more often in addition to it these days.

I personally don't like the very tiny lipstick-y or keychain ones, because they tend to be less than a single full charge, and I don't feel like that's worth carrying them around. The Anker pack I use currently is only slightly wider than a credit card and roughly the thickness of an e-reader, and it holds almost two full charges for my phone. The dual-USB-port models can be great for a couple or family with multiple devices to worry about.
