Charging for Parking Question

I will be going straight to AK when I arrive this week....renewing my AP when I get to Guest Services....

Will they ask me to pay for parking and then can I get reimbursed when I renew or will they allow me to go in if I explain the situation? Just trying to figure out what to expect....

Expect to pay for parking and ask for a reimbursement when you purchase your AP at guest services.

Why not check into your resort first? Then you would have your parking pass.

....or swing by the free parking lot at TTC and renew there....and then head to AK.

PS- I've had many a parking lot attendant not even look at my AP. I just hold it up at them, they see it's an AP and they wave me in without actually scrutinizing the expiration date.

Just show the gate attendant your old AP and indicate that you will be renewing, they are likely to let you through. We weren't even renewing when we did this. We just told them we were going to be picking up our APs. Think we had our confirmation print out from buying online in the car, but they didn't ask to look at it. The just let us through.

When they ask at the booth if you paid for parking on the way in, tell them no since you didn't pay. If you have to pay though, they will reimburse you for it.

AK wouldn't let me do this when I was renewing - I had to get the receipt from them and then have Guest Services reimburse me when I renewed my AP. I would hope for the best but plan for reimbursement.

I didn't go to my resort first because I was meeting people for lunch and we were driving in just in time to meet them and its silly to go to another park or DTD to renew the pass when your plans have you at AK anyway.
