I don't see an official page from Disneyland about the tour. You could always call and ask. (Although they may not have any info if it's not available for booking yet.) I'm glad to see someone who is excited at the prospect of the tour though! I hope you're able to do it!Is there an age limit on the tour? (as in minimum age). I know other train tours you have to be 16+, which is why we've never been able to do them as we have party members under that age.
At $85/person, we aren't likely to, but my dad would love a train tour if it went backstage at all...if this one did that at all, even a little bit, and was all ages, I'd give it some more consideration.I don't see an official page from Disneyland about the tour. Oh! Yeah- if they go backstage I'm sure they'll be an age limit. That's just a smart safety pre-caution on Disney's part...At $85/person, we aren't likely to, but my dad would love a train tour if it went backstage at all...if this one did that at all, even a little bit, and was all ages, I'd give it some more consideration.
Your dad might want to request a ride on the tender. Seat is directly behind the locomotive, and it's quite interesting talking with the engineers. Only loads at Main Street Station and must go full circle. At $85/person, we aren't likely to, but my dad would love a train tour if it went backstage at all...if this one did that at all, even a little bit, and was all ages, I'd give it some more consideration.
And yet I'll probably pay it some day since it was never running the days I asked in the past. I don't think I'd even pay it x2 for my husband to do this though - he just doesn't care enough and it seems short enough for him to go relax with an ice cream in the meantime.
I was able to book this tour today, but it is still not listed on the website; the price was $72.25 with a DVC discount. To me the cost is completely worth it since I have never had the chance to ride on the Lilly Belle in the past. even though I was able to book It, the booking rep had minimal information on the tour; has anyone been able to find a review yet? I would like to know what I signed up for.
Also, there may be a citizen's arrest if somebody tries to steal something in front of me.
I am not going until September 9th, but I will let you know how it was.I'd love to hear your review once you take the tour. I've toyed with the idea of booking it, but with such little information haven't pulled the trigger. TIA!
If the beverage were the size of the LB, the whole thing would still be slightly overpriced. And a beverage man! You forgot the beverage!
I think you could say this about many things at Disney. If the beverage were the size of the LB, the whole thing would still be slightly overpriced.

At least a few years ago if they were charging by summer of 2017. The RR was closed 16-summer of 17 so last free tours would have been 2015....I had no idea they were charging $85 for this. Yikes! We did this (minus the donut) for “free” not that long ago.
As much of a system shock as it was when they started charging for this I get it now. And experience of a lifetime it could indeed be for the right person if they bring back. It’s a very unique experience and if you weren’t going to the parks prior to the tour being offered AND “in the know” this was the only way you’d get to have this experience. This thread is over two years old, so it's a bit odd that it's popped up now, especially since the tour in question isn't even being offered. Nevertheless, everyone's perspective and experience are unique, so their decision on taking this tour should be made based on their own priorities. One person's waste of time is another person's experience of a lifetime. (I certainly would be hesitant to base my decision on the advice of a poster whose history on this board consists of one dismissive opinion.) This tour is off the books until 2020 anyway, so everyone will have plenty of time to think things over in the meantime. We enjoyed our tour, donut and beverage notwithstanding (brought our own victuals), spent a long time with our guide after the end of the tour (she was great fun!), and felt that the experience as a whole was worth the price paid (disclaimer: we did get an AP discount). When the tour returns next year, it may be different and include more things (or not). Stay tuned...
And should have alcohol in for that price but still not worth it.If the beverage were the size of the LB, the whole thing would still be slightly overpriced.
