Charged wrong # of Points Question

I was just looking at my reservations at the DVC Member website and it looks like they are charging me the wrong # of points per night. For a 1 bedroom Standard View Room (Garden/Pool View) I have that it should cost me 18 points and they are charging me 24 points. The date is for November 6th. Has this happened to anyone before, or am I looking at the points wrong?

Are you sure you got a standard view? Standard view is 18, preferred is 24. Garden/pool IS preferred view. Standard view is of the parking lot.

Well maybe I got preferred, I thought he said standard view room... maybe I am wrong...

I guess a pool view would be a preferred view... thanks

Where? the OP doesn't say at what resort. At BWV a std view is not necessarily a 'parking lot' view.

The standard view rooms at BWV are either toward the parking lot or toward the entrance driveway. All others are preferred. Preferred is broken into two categories: Boardwalk View, or Pool/Garden view.

The resort was implied because BWV is the only resort which has 1-B/R villas that have two different view classifications.

(AKV isn't open yet, and views at VB only apply to Inn rooms.... )

I'm quite familiar with that - but I have also spent a week + in a Standard 1 Bedroom at BWV that looked directly towards the S/D....that is why I asked what resort the OP was talking about.

That doesn't sound like a standard view, but a preferred view.

I know that and agree - but I booked and only "paid for" (with points) a standard view.

When they were redoing the siding a few years ago most in standard view got upgraded free of charge but many weren't even told they were upgraded. It's happened occasionally on a smaller scale otherwise. I don't think there are any standard view units where you could see the S/D.

I got one of those rooms facing the Swan/Dolphin in April 2004 for standard view points. That was when the old red sales building blocked part of the view. I believe those rooms are now classified as "garden view".

I just booked a standard view 1 br at BWV and I was told that the view would definately be either the parking lot or entrance. They had many rooms available (Last week in January) and said all the standard views were the same. Swan and Dolphin view is considered preferred.
