For an 11 night stay would it be cheaper to buy a refrigerator from Walmart ???
What could I do with it whenI have to fly home ?

at one time, one of the town car services also rented refrigerators. I never rented one from then, but read it here on the boards. They were cheapre than WDW.

Many here have said that they bought one then donated it to good will, or sold or gave it away in the lobby, or parking lot of the hotel.
another option is to just buy a cheap styrofoam cooler and throw it away when you leave. I've used coolers in hotels rooms very often, and usually I've had no problem with them. Just change the ice each morning again when you return to the room.

I bought a collapsible cooler on wheels from Costco for $25.00. We are flying and it is small enough to take on the plane. It holds 54 cans or 36 quarts and has a removable inner liner that is 100% leek-proof. We can probably use it for toating home those extras at the end of our vacation, plus it will be great for the beach or pool when we get home!!!

Did anyone mention the size of these refrigerators? Is there room for a gallon of milk, soda cans, bottled water, etc?:D

We have stayed at the Poly 3 times in the last 5 years and got a fridge in the room 2 of those times. We never asked for it, and we were never charged. My theory is that someone else had it in the room before us and they just never came to remove it. -Wendy

Us too! We stayed at the Poly twice last summer, 1 room, 1 night in July and 2 rooms, 1 night in August. In all 3 of those rooms there were refridgerators. We never requested one, nor were we charged.
And we werent in concierge rooms, just plain old garden view.

When we stayed at the Contemporary for one night in Feb. I requested a fridge for medical reasons (had a liquid steroid med for my DD that needed to be in fridge) - had done this in the past and gotten the regular "dorm" size one. Well, this time they sent this little bitty micro fridge that would barely hold a 120 ml bottle of medicine. Guess they thought they had buttered my buscuit!

How big are the refrigerators???? Wondering if it would be worth $10 a day.

I am in your exact situation! DD has tested positive for strep (for the third time:( ) and she is on a med that needs refrigeration. We are flying to WDW in 4 days so I'll need a way to keep her med cold. I plan on taking a cooler for our grocery thing, but I worry about the ice melting over night or during the day while we're hitting the parks. (we tend to leave early and get back quite late) I would feel better if her med was in a fridge but I don't want to pay $10 a day either! I guess I'll see how it would be best to handle this. The bottle says right on it, "keep refrigerated". Perhaps that'll be enough. She'll have to take it the entire time we're there.
I will also have to take meds for my son...he has had strep 6 times since Jan!!! He takes pills though...no refrigerator needed for that! ;) He is scheduled for surgery in Mid-May. They wanted to do it this Monday! I had to tell them that wasn't good for us...but I couldn't say why! The kids don't know we're going! I later told the Dr. in private what was going on. YOU CAN'T MESS WITH MY DISNEY TRIP! :earseek:

I hope everything works out fine.

Lisa

FYI

most antibiotics are avaliable in chewable form. We've requested these everytime for the kids since DS was about 3. The last one DD had (sorry cna't remember what one) came in the fast disolve kind, and should be safe for about a 1yr old and up. I know they had it in a lower dosage than she was on, and at the time she was about 28 lbs.

I just called cro two days before we left, but like i said i had to restate this at check in and then again at check out. good luck and have fun.
