Hello,
Is there an extra charge if you have more than 2 adults if you are staying in a room that sleep 6 or 8 ( suite). Our oldest daughter is 19 and we were wondering if there will be an extra charge of 25 a night? We were going to stay at the akl villas in the one bedroom, but they phoned yesderday and offered the concierge with 2 bedroom bc the room we reserved was not availabe. So it was a very nice upgrade and we are excited but I was just wondering if there will be an extra 25 a night since our oldest is now an adult?

It's been my experience that there is no extra adult fee when you are staying in a suite or DVC unit. It's only been the standard rooms. The IPO staff at the AKL can confirm that for you.

Don't know if there's an extra charge or not for a regular suite (definitely not in DVC accomodations), but since your original booking was not available, it would seem reasonable to request that you are NOT charged for any additional adults. You wouldn't have been paying extra for DD in a 1 BR villa.

Sounds like a great opportunity! Hope you have a wonderful trip.

When we went to Poly last year in a standard room, we originally only booked 2 adults and 1 child. My mom decided to join us at the last minute and when I told the front desk about her when we checked in, they didn't charge me anything for her.

When we stayed at the Yacht Club, my father and his wife came for two days. I went down stairs and asked for two more parkhopper passes, and two more room keys. So far, no problem and no questions. When I asked if I could buy more credits for the meal plan for both of them, he said that it might trigger a higher room fee, so I passed. I figured he was doing me a favor, tipped him, and paid full price for their meals. :)

There's a difference between a package and a la carte options and it can get very confusing. For the dining package, everyone in the room must be the same. If you had 5 days of a DDP, even if your family was only coming for 2 days, they would still be required to purchase the same 5 day plan as you. Plus, the dining package requires a minimum 3 day advance notice, so it can't be added on at check-in.

On a side note, I'm very surprised that the CM accepted a tip. Disney has strict policies about that and it can result in immediate termination of that employee.

Oh no! I didn't know that. I did argue a lot, and finally just kind of put it in his hand. Had I known it might have caused him to get fired I never would have done it. I just thought he was being polite. As for the meal plan, I thought that I could get a couple of extra credits.....out of curiosity, what happens if you run out of credits on your meal early? Are you done? Is there no way to add on?

Thanks!

I read a thread recently about that and I think after 2 or 3 refusals, they can accept the tip, but I think it has to be given to their manager.

No, you can't purchase any extra credits and I haven't see anyone that ever even used all of theirs, we certainly don't, well except for our TS credits, we always have left over CS credits.

For our past 3 trips ( including my now current trip) we have been charged $25.00 a day extra for my DS. The first time he had just turned 18 and hadn't graduated high school yet. Next year, I expect to pay the extra for my DD as well, she too will turn 18. It sure adds to the cost, but they are supposed to charge when they reach 18. I think most people are. Perhaps it is different for a suite, I don't know. Hope you are not charged.
