Wondering if there is a place, or places, in WDW (including resorts) where one can get a Disney Characture drawn of oneself? On our last trip, we did see a stand (in MK or MGM) that did drawings, but they weren't the cartooney type. We'd love to get these of our girls this trip!

There was one at ASmu the whole time we were there right near the food court.

There's one by the Brown Derby at MGM. We also had one done on the Boardwalk. I don't know if they are both still there. We were there only last year, but things do change.

You can also get the 'cartoony' charactures done at Magic Kingdom in Liberty Square, at MGM Studios (can't remember where), at Epcot in France and at Downtown Disney. :)

I realize these can be hit or miss, but generally speaking, are the charactures "quality" drawings that might actually look like your child, etc.?

We've had them drawn before at other places, and, well, like a piece of modern art, one really must be willing to interpret who they are suppose to look like...

Every characture I've seen at Disney has been a very 'kind' representation, not one of those where they distort your features for the sake of their own sense of humor.

I had one done of my son on our first trip when he was 8. It was right by the food court at ASMo. It was cartoony, but still looked like my son. He was drawn on a motorcycle with "Born to be Wild" up in the corner. I thought it was well done.

We've gotton one done at ASMU and 2 done at Port Orleans Riverside. All of them came out very nice.

We have had them done in the game area at the Contemporary, Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and MGM.

My favorite is the one we had done at Animal Kingdom. I am planning on getting my girls done everytime we are there.

Thanks everyone! I'm making a note of where everyone has seen these! I greatly appreciate it! Both my daughters want one of these made of them, but pertaining to Disney.. For example, my youngest wants to be Tinkerbell, and my oldes wants to be Ariel. Have you seen anything like this done!?

They do charactures in the lobby at POP.

I was not paying attention to what kind though but I do plan to have DD11 & DS7 have theirs done when we're there next week!

My daughter had one done as Ariel. She also has Down Syndrome and it came out great! We've had two done one as a baseball player and the other as the mermaid. Both times the artist was sensitive and professional.

I got mine done at Pop last May. It was really well done, the artist even let us pick out what we wanted in our picture (Cindy's Castle, Mickey Ears, etc.) rather than the standard police officer or cowboy drawing so that it was extra special. Good luck and have fun!

The ones at DTD are more expensive than the ones in the parks. I believe that every resort has a person that does it and every park has several locations that will do them.

I had DD done at DTD and I was NOT Happy with it at all. It looked NOTHING like her and her and it wasn't cartoony. He messed it up and than tried to fix it. I wish I would have refused it. But DD really wanted it. But everytime I look the Picture it makes me angry.
