Characters signing ear hats?

I've been thinking about fun ways to get autographs since I'm in my mid twenties and have no use for an autograph book (don't worry...I'll make an awesome one to bring along once we have kids!).
I've considered bringing a white pillowcase but I don't bring a park bag and I don't have room in my pockets for a pillowcase, pen and something hard to write on. I brought a Belle pillowcase from my childhood and had Belle sign it on our first trip. I love it but it was kind of a pain to carry around all day.
So I just recently remembered that they have "create your own" Mickey Ears and I'm thinking about creating an all white pair and having the characters sign those! I'll bring a different colored sharpie every day and end up with a hat full of signatures.

Has anyone ever done this? Besides being mistaken for a bride, can anyone see an issue with this? I know they won't sign them while I'm wearing them but ears are easy to take on and off.

The hat sounds fun and easy but we do love getting pillowcases done on the ship.

This was from our 1st. They turned out so nice I couldn't let the kids use them. On subsequent cruises we had more done and they've been drooled on, washed, faded, etc. I'm not sure if they do this in resorts but on the ship we just leave the pillowcases, markers (and a big bag of Skittles or something as a treat) at GS once we board, and the completed pillowcase and markers are delivered to our room the last night.

I like to call it an "incentive". Who doesn't love Skittles?
Really, I'd bring choc but it doesn't like the heat.

We haven't done the mickey ears but my kids did light coloered/white disney baseball hats and colored sharpies. Kept the sun off the face, markers were easy to carry and the hat was always at the ready. They now hang on the wall in their rooms, are worn often and don't sit on a shelf like the autograph books.

Thats a cool idea.I wish I had thought of that when I went in 2008.If you are going to use a white hat I would spry the hatwith scotch guard so it won"t get stained.I would spry it every night

On the last 2 trips we took I had the 9 inch plain Vinylmation Mickey signed. Recently I was told at the Disney Store that they aren't allowed to sign them in the parks anymore. Her reason was that people were selling them on Ebay. Has anyone else had them signed or heard that they've stopped? I couldn't believe that I didn't see anyone else having this done when we were there.

That sounds like a fun idea! We got our daughter one of the big vinylmations for the characters to sign for our upcoming trip. They were on clearance on Disneys website!

I hope not, we bought one for our trip in December. I seen a kid in front of us with one on our last trip, thats what gave us the idea.

As a cast member, I have not heard anything about this at all. And according to my Entertainment friends, none of them had been told not to sign vinylmation for this reason. The general rule for character autographs is that they may not sign close to anything such as non-Disney logos to not make it seem like any character is endorsing another business or product, however they may sign any Universal autograph. They also may not sign any body part or article of clothing as long as it is on a Guest. This Merchandise Cast Member sounds like she is told to discourage it, but the characters themselves would likely not refuse to sign it. Hope this helps

Thanks for sharing that with us. It's good to know. I love my signed Vinylmation figures.
Jill ... be sure to take your own Sharpies along, I haven't seen them for sale in the parks. I usually buy the multi-color pack and carry my Mickey and pens in a big Ziploc Bag.

Last trip we took 8X11 for a 5X7 photo white photo mats (one for each kid & a family one) and a package of different colored CLICKABLE (no chance in losing the lids!) Sharpies. The free photo we got in Epcot with our Disney Visa is the photo we put with the mats & framed, hanging in each kids room and one in the basement family space (Dis themed of course!). I plan on taking only 1 mat with us in August. We will simply update the kids pictures and add to the familyroom area with each visit. Of course, I still have to make the kids their own autograph books!

I used a cheap plastic clipboard and a plastic bag to keep the mat free from damage and it all slipped right into a standard backpack no problem.

Aww, I hope they'd still be able to sign an orthopedic cast. When ds was in 2nd grade, he fractured his wrist and Stitch signed his cast instead of the autograph book. Great idea!
Hopefully we won't have to test this again though.

Ebay. Search embroidered pillowcases. I think her name was Antonia something but I also think she's no longer on ebay or changed her name.
