Characters - Just back

all 4 little einsteins??? really??? my dd will flip!!! i told her we get to see the 2 that are in the character meal, but where can we see all of them? we arent going til may, but they will probably still be there, right?

and im jealous you saw flik. he was pretty much the only reason we went to AK last year, we hung around for over an hour waiting for him because the CMs kept telling us he would be right back, but he never showed. i guess he was actually somewhere else, and they were giving us the runaround :( dd was very disappointed.

In December, we saw all 4 Little Einsteins on Mickey Ave in MGM. They came out 2 at a time, so we had to stop by twice. If you time it right, you could see Leo and Annie at the end of their time and then get back in line to meet June and Quincy. Quincy was great. DD6 asked him to sign DS4's book. I told him he was too scared and pointed to him across the street. I don't know why I said that. He wasn't scared. He was just too lazy to walk across the street. Quincy walked over there and said hello to to him. I have such cute photos! The downside is that after that DS4 thought he could just hang in the stroller and let DD6 wait in line for him!

We also met Leo and June, along with Jojo and Goliath at the character meal. It was cute but very long.

Photo op tip: if you are waiting for the Little Einsteins on Mickey Ave, take a picture of your kids with Rocket. My photo turned out great. Also, at the entrance to the H&V character meal there is a playhouse disney sign that makes a good backdrop.

We met Flik by Pizza Safari in December.

Flik can be found in two places at AK. During the day he can be found by the tatoo stand (if you are walking towards Africa, he would be on the righ-hand side, right before the big Africa sign). And during the parade he is next to the Pizzafarri resturant (if you are walking towards Camp Minnie-Mickey, he is in the alley way, right by the resturant).

We saw Mushu around 4:30 on Dec. 30th. We called the character hotline and they said that Mushu wouldn't be out (the character hotline has been fairly useless for me - about a 20% accuracy rating) and yet was there with Mulan in China.

We did see Piglet at CP - however, he was also with Pooh and Tigger in Epcot in England on Jan. 3rd.

I've never heard of the character hotline! :confused3 Is it something we can call or is it something a CM has to do? Thanks!:yay:

So agree!! I think asking a CM to call the character hotline is only good for common characters in predictable locations. I don't think they know anything about the more randomly used spots.

And I never forgot the one time I asked at Magic Kingdom Guest Services for Brer Bear - they told me he didn't meet anymore, and hasn't met in awhile. I doubted the information, but the CM informed me that it was correct. I sadly left the building :( , and then right in front of me coming our for meets is Brer Bear! Literally right there in front of me! Me and my nephew Ben happily meet him, and then afterwards I walked back into Guest Services and told the same CM that Brer Bear is OUT RIGHT NOW!! She looked very surprised her information was wrong! That's when I learned that the information from the character hotline is not "set in stone". They just don't know everything, so I learned to just keep my eyes open, and check known locations for characters anyway!

Glad to see I am not the only one who doesn't take the character hotline's word as gold! But the character hotline is good for finding established characters on a predictable schedule. :)

I totally agree with you Sue, I called the day Chad and the kids meet the Three Caballeros, and they told me Panchito would not be meeting, yet they found him in Mexico at Epcot, another time I called about Hercules, and they told me he wasn't doing meets anymore than I called back a few days later and he was out at the Hat at MGM. I think it depends on who you get when you call, I think that if a cast member really wants to call the Character Hotline for you they will and maybe the people that do are the ones that know about the characters, the other cast members who don't know or say that a certain character isn't meeting anymore may not even been really trying, you know what I mean?
I don't know, lately I've been taking advice from fellow character hunters, and it seems to be paying off. :)

I also love when we have a CM call the character hotline for a character and they come back and tell me the character will be in the parade. I love parades - but I am having them call for pic/auto opportunities.

If they say that the character will be in the parade, that means that the said character is only going to be in the parade, and not available for pictures.

Sounds like you had a great trip and were able to find lots of characters. Do you remember what day you saw Mushu? What time? I am really hoping to catch him my trip in March, haven't been able to find him my last two trips either.

Did you see any sign of Marie the cat?? Just curious?? I heard she was spotted at MGM, would be nice if she would become a regular.

I've been looking for Mushu since I don't remember when!

I'm almost desperate... Forget the almost.. I am desperate.

I was sad to see I couldn'T find a plush mush anywhere to buy as a souvenir:(

I would also like to know what is the character hotline. It sounds like something in the park, but in my 10 trips there I have never heard of it and
we are going in March and I would love to hunt down Jiminy Cricket.

The character hotline (or CHIP hotline) is a number CMs can call to try to find out the location and time of a character. However, it may not always be accurate.

Last year, we were at MGM and saw Piglet out in front of the Sorcerer's hat. That was around Jan 15th.

One name stuck out at me on your list, DisneyDadof3, Clarabelle Cow. Our 4YO DS is obsessed with seeing Clarabelle during our May trip. We have an older Disney children's abc book that has a few mentions of Clarabelle Cow. Where did you see her? Thanks.

Is Darth and the Stormtrooper always at MGM?? If so.. where? My 5 year old DS has becomed obsessed with Star Wars.. I would LOVE to have him see Darth.. Thanks!!

I understand that, but what I was getting at is that I am having them call to see if they will be around for the pic/autograph and am frustrated when they seem happy to tell me they are going to be in the parade.

We have seen Clarabelle just as you use your ticket to enter. We have also seen her in the middle of town square. She hasn't been out every day, but we have seen her on probably 5 of the 7 days we've been there since Oct.

In December, we met Darth Vader and the storm trooper by the exit (I think) to the star tours ride. It was really neat. DS4 wanted to hug him and Vader refused!! He just pointed at him to turn around for the photo -- DS4 was so confused!

Just got back as well, and saw Mushu at 1:30pm in China on the 3rd. Since some of you seem to be searching for him. I simply asked Mulan and she said he was with the guardians at the moment and offered the time for meeting him. And the Photopass photographers told us when Belle and Beast were coming out and where to be.

I was surprised to see Rafiki and Timon (together) in Adventure Land. Had not read a lot about them being in Magic Kingdom before leaving, but maybe they are really common and I missed the discussion.
