Characters in the World Showcase at night?

We're planning to go to Epcot as a group on Saturday, May 7th from 5 to 9. Is this too late for the characters to be in the countries for photos? I want to mention it in the newsletter I'm sending out, but I can't remember if the characters only appear during the day?? Thanks in advance if anyone has any idea!

I can't say I remember seeing any in the evening.

I dont think I have ever seen that at night other then at MK. And even then the only time I remember is at Mickey Christmas Party.
