I see it sometimes rains in February, and especially right now when Southern California is getting poured on. Wondering how it works with meeting characters? Do they still come out and just stand under something so they're not getting rained on or do they usually wait until the rain stops?

We have run into characters in unusual places such as the exit to Space Mountain or inside the opera house during rain, so at least some of them still come out. I don't know if they have enough alternate indoor locations for the full slate of characters they might expect to have out during the day, but some of them are still available. Also, there are already a number of regularly used indoor character locations such as princess fantasy fair, Star Wars launch bay, and Animation Academy.

Download the DLR app to keep track of which characters are out and where they are. The great thing about character M&Gs on rainy days is running into the characters in unexpected places. We were in DCA right before Christmas and bumped into several major characters inside lobbies and shops. There was no PhotoPass CM available (we were told that this is normal when the M&Gs change locations due to weather), but the handlers were happy to take photos with our phones. And there were no lines at all because no one else knew that the M&Gs were there! We got lots of interaction time and great photos, too.

The other great part about characters in the rain is that while they are harder to find, lines tend to be shorter. Definitely worth finding them!

We were at DL on a rainy morning in October, planning on seeing characters in Town Square and elsewhere (including Jack and Sally). Most of the Big 5 were out when we arrived, but, before we got to see any other than Goofy, they went in and, even though the PP people remained, the characters never came back out. We got some great pix of my DD from the PP who remained, but no characters, and Jack and Sally weren't out, either.
