Characters at Disney!!!!

I don't think anyone's mentioned this-

If you want to find a specific character and are having a hard time, you can ask any CM who has a phone (like at a shop) to call the "CHIP" hotline, and they can find out if, when, and where that character will be for that day. They will have info about any park, not just the one you are calling from. I believe it is just for that day, though.

We have done this, for example, to find Daisy, whose appearances can be pretty sporadic, not regular.

I assume they still do this? It's been at least a year or two since we've done it.

We are going in Aug 2009 for 10 days

We are going to 1900 Park Faire Breakfast Breakfast
1900 Park Faire Dinner

and possibly (yes or no) Chef Mickey Breakfast

Going to Magic Kingdom, MGM, and Epcot & Animal Kingdom at Park Opening!

The 1900 Park Fare breakfast will have Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh, and Tigger (or at least that's the current lineup, it may change). The 1900 Park Fare dinner will have Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine (aka evil stepmother), Anastasia, and Drizella (aka evil stepsisters). And at Chef Mickey's will be all of the Fab Five.

As for the park openings, there is pretty much only a big hubbub at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Both of them have small 5 minute shows with the characters opening the park - be sure to get there early, especially at Animal Kingdom . . . it's kinda hard to see the ceremony from far away. At MGM and Epcot, there's only an audio countdown . . . no characters, production numbers and such like at the Kingdoms.
