We are going to DL July 6-12. Now when we go to WDW we use pirate Kenny to know where the characters will be and when the lines are the shortest. Does anyone have even a loose list of the characters and where/when they meet and which ones have photopass? I have seen on people's TR the main characters in different outfits in DCA how do we find them and their meet times? Two of my kids love meeting characters and even seeing the main characters in different outfits. Also are Mickey/Minnie meeting somewhere in their 60th outfits? Thanks in advance for any help. :flower3:Two of my kids are on the spectrum so I like to have a plan for how to spread the characters out over the 5 days to avoid meltdowns over long character lines.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto all meet in New 60th outfits around the flagpole area in DL. We found that most any given time from open till the parade there are 5 of them out. They rotate from place to place. Only Mickey had a photographer

At DCA we found Minnie, Mickey, Chip and Dale were out in roaring 20s type outfits.

Majority of the characters we found were roaming and had no set schedule. They don't track characters out there like they do at WDW for that reason. Most meet without handlers too, they just walk around.

There are a few set characters that are shown on the times guides but we found most randomly

This should not be an indication of who you will find, just who we saw. No roaming character has a photographer
We ran in to roaming around
Mary Poppins and Bert
Bert alone
Peter Pan
Alice and Mad Hatter
Mad Hatter alone
Cruela D'ville
Evil Queen
Hook
Ariel, Rapunzel and Merida were all spotted in front, just beyond the gates, before you head under the train station tunnels

Tink's nook in DL is fun too. We met Tink, Rosetta and Iridesa. I believe Silvermist had been there at some point that day too. Oh, and Fawn. So you never know who may be in there. They met separate and we found only Tink had a photographer

Over in DCA you can meet Minnie, Mickey and Chip/Dale in fun Roaring 20's type outfits. And as mentioned above, Oswald is there too. We didn't see any roaming characters there. Toy Story characters had a spot over in Paradise Pier. Pluto was also in Grizzly Area, near Soarin. Russell and Dug came out in the Wilderness Explorer area. Some had photographers and some did not

AngiTN has a good summary of the characters that you may find. Unlike WDW, DLR isn't as consistent with characters, which can be both good and bad. It's harder to plan, but it also means that there are more chances for a spontaneous meeting. Occasionally fellow Dis'ers have tried to compile lists of characters and locations, but they tend to be tough to keep up to date and it's hard to track all of the maybe/sometimes type of characters.

In addition to the ones mentioned by AngiTN, I also saw Chip and Dale out in their new 60th outfits in Town Square. I've also seen Donald and Goofy on Buena Vista Street in their 20s outfits. Doc McStuffin (and maybe the other Disney Junior characters (Jake and Sofia)) meets in DCA near Playhouse Disney.

In terms of Photopass, there are photographers at most of the fixed character locations (e.g., Pixie Hollow, Princess Fantasy Faire, Cozy Cone, Anna & Elsa, Olaf, Captain America/Thor, etc.), but it's more hit-or-miss with the semi-fixed locations (e.g., Town Square, Buena Vista Street) and very rarely are their photographers with the free roaming characters.

When we were there last month, all the characters on Buena Vista Street (Mickey, Minnie, Chip/Dale, Goofy, Pluto) had photographers. By the flagpole in DL Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto all had photographers. We saw Peter Pan in FL and he did not have a photographer. We didn't see Hook at all. The Cars characters had photographers. Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First had photographers. Sulley had a photographer. We must have been at the wrong place at the wrong time most of the time because we didn't catch any of the Toy Story characters in CA (we did see Jessie by the petting zoo- she did not have a photographer) and didn't see Alice or Mad Hatter. Pooh's Corner characters did have photographers. Oswald did have a photographer. This was just before the 60th started. I find all of the lines for characters move fairly quickly- especially the ones out on the streets. Sometimes a line for a certain character would be closed- but they would say "Oh, Mickey will be out at 5pm" I found these times to be hard to try to plan around. The fixed location characters are there pretty much all the time.

I think it is nice & I almost forgot how the characters till roam free at DL. My last 2 visits to HKDL was all so structured. There was a queue for every character and a long queue at that. I still love my first memory of my 1st trip to DL California, my magic morning where it was a lovely and misty morning, looked really magical, and being able to walk straight up to the characters for a photo. I have my Photo Pass Plus this time, I am very much looking forward to being back at magical original DL!

We must have been at the wrong place at the wrong time most of the time because we didn't catch any of the Toy Story characters in CA.
The DCA Toy Story character M&G locations is kind of out of the way (at least it was when I saw Woody). It's located on the water side of the lower deck of the Silly Symphony Swings. I wouldn't have known Woody was there except there was a CM standing by Bayside Brews/Silly Symphony Swings inviting guests to meet Woody. You couldn't see him (or the line) from the walkway at all.

IIRC, some of the character leave their M&G if they are getting ready for a parade. Many of handlers have a schedule, in their pocket, of many of the characters M&G and street locations, with times. Sometimes they will refer to if you ask nicely.

Woody and Buzz frequently have the M&G by the SSS. Jessie and Army men are over by the pergola by Screamin.
