Has anyone been to the Characterpalooza at DHS lately? What time is this usually, and what characters have been seen recently? Thanks!

Characterpalooza schedule is based on the Fantasmic! schedule.

The are no characters if the first Fant! starts before 7:30pm.
When the first show is at:
7:30- one 20min set at 4:45
8:00- three 20min sets starting at 4:50
8:30- two 30min sets starting at 4:50
9:00- four 25min sets (two groups w/ two sets each)
When there is no Fant! there will be four 30min sets starting at 4:50pm

I have not been since September so can not say what characters are there now.

I read on easywdw.com that the characters are always changing. You never know who will be there. ::MinnieMo

I was there recently and saw Stitch, Minnie, Pluto, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Pocahontas and Meeko, Mary Poppins and Mr Penguin, Belle, and Rafiki.

Other characters I have seen in the past have been Captain Hook and Mr Smee, Aladdin and Jasmine, Mulan, and Snow Queen.

We were there at 4:50 on March 23, but after about 30 minutes more characters came out and rotated with the other characters. While we were there over the hour, we saw Max and Goofy, Meeko, Bolt, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Queen of Hearts, Bolt, Jafar, Chip and Dale, Mary Poppins with a Peguin friend, Minnie and Pluto, Evil Queen (don't know what else to call her from snow white), and a little einsten character (not leo, the other boy?? Sorry?).

Is it set up well enough that you can get pictures and autographs with all those characters or do you have to pick and choose. I'm so excited to do this for the 1st time this trip! :goodvibes

I would love to see some of those characters!!!

Do you have to be entering F! to see them?

where is this at?

Yes, when we were there over spring break the CM with the character forms a line (which were not very long typically) so you can get photos and autographs.

It is in the art of animation building, back by the sorcerer mickey greets. Look close in all the hallways too.

You really need to pick and choose. There is no way to meet everyone in a given set before they change. One good thing is that the third set (if it happens that day) usually mirrors the first set.

We go during September and have always been able to see all the characters associated with characterpalooza in one set(and our sets are usually just 20 minutes). The important thing is to avoid seeing the characters that are always in the animation building and focus on the ones that are just there for characterpalooza. I think the standards are Mickey, Pooh, & the incredibles. You can see the standards anytime during the day.

We were there in late September/early October, and the best we could manage was about 4 characters on any given set - if that. Lines quickly got 15ish families deep on both days that we hit these at DHS.

Your mileage may vary, but beware of thinking that you'll get them all.

This is not quite accurate. There is a group of 30-35 characters who may appear. That group does not change much, recently with the removal of the Einsteins m&g they became available. When Pooh was added as an all day character, Max was added back. About three years ago, the Robin Hood gang, Max, Gideon Honest John, and Radcliffe were swapped out with the VIPs

You should have no problem most nights, but if it's very crowded since perhaps it was raining the lines may be longer. You should focus on the characters only available there(villains, tweedles, Max, Genie) and go for the ones who appear other places if there is time.

We are going in May, and it looks like only one F! is scheduled at 9 during May. I assume this one would start at 4:50 too?

Thanks!

I've been to many character paloozas, and usually the characters stay the same. If you are standing facing Pooh's big m & g area, there's a door directly to the right of it, that's where some of the characters come out, also in the corner right across from it (closer to the incredibles m & g)

If you get there before the palooza starts, no cm will tell you what's going on, if you ask, they still won't really say anything.

Usually I have seen: Minnie & Pluto (who get replaces by Chip & Dale), Mary & the Penguins, Pocahontas & Meeko, Jafar (who replaces the Genie), Captain Hook, Queen of Hearts, Snow White's evil queen.

They'll be all over the place, and usually when the set changes, there is some way the characters are "related" to who replaces them. Also make sure to check in the back two rooms, as we've found characters (including Max) in there sometimes

So, I understood that this was out behind the Art of Animation building? Am I wrong? It sounds like it is inside a building. How do I get to it? Does anyone have photos?

Thanks!

The building is straight back. Just walk straight down the main street and you'll run right into it.

Go in through the gift shop that is the exit for the animation attraction. When you go into the store go straight to the back and then turn right and you will end of in the area that you would exit into if you did the animation attraction.
