Thanks to this board..I am planning on doing the Character Tea..( thanks to the Palza Gardens' post...there I realized that it is worth it after reading all the comments)...I was just wondering if anybody knows which time is better ? We are not planning on having lunch in over the counter restaurants...and saving dinners for Walts, Blue Lagoon and maybe Silver Spur ( not sure yet)...( Thanks to Sarah's posts...I am trying to be as good as her in planning every meal ! ;) so tea would be a perfect time to sit down, take a rest, have something hot and be out of the cold...

Also thanks to all of your suggestions I am planning on using RS transport !! :Pinkbounc

Thanks !!

No idea when you are going (has an influence on th opening times of the park) and what the hours for the character tea are, but: the tea is a buffet (as far as I know), which means you'll eat a lot. The restaurants in the park are scheduled to close with the park, so when the park closes at 8, you'll have to go to dinner at... 6.30 or so... make sure you'll be hungry again to eat all the lovely food there!

I hope I have not turned into a compulssive planner Martina :lmao: but you are wise to book rather than be let down if the restaurants are fully booked. We unfortunately experienced that last Christmas :smooth:

A work colleague of mine did the PL afternoon tea at halloween and said it was really worth the money. Lots of character interaction and plenty off buffet food to fill up on. I think it was at 3pm and not as busy as the rest of the day.

You will love the NBH - we stayed last Christmas and had finances allowed this year would have stayed again. There are some lovely spots for photos in the hotel. the globe and piano in reception and the TAAAAAAAAAll Christmas tree at the bottom of the exit stairs.

You must take the Minnie Train in at least once as it goes past the other hotels and you get good views of the Ice Rink in The NYH.

Thanks to Caroline who posted that Disney have just released their show and parade scheduleI am sliding those into my agenda as we speak. Cant wait to see the Winnie the Pooh show this year as last time it was ther Mickey Show. Am going to queue early for good seats as last years photos were a bit distant.

Happy organising Martina :thumbsup2

Thank you all for your replies...and yes Sarah...this DIs board has turned me into a compulsive planner :teeth: ...my DH is not convineced about going to DLP...and even worse at Christmas time. ( thank God this trip is a gift from my parents...and that way he won't be able to complain about the prices !..so I am trying to make everything perfect.

Regarding tea time...since we will be from the 26th until the 31st of Dec. I just called DLP booking number and they told me I could select the 3 pm or the 5 pm tea. I thought doing it at 5 pm and then having that dinner at around 8pm like at Annettes or some where at the Disney Village , since the other night I was planning a sitting down rest. at about 7pm.

When you book the tables, can you choose or you just get a table assigned and that's it ?

P.S. I just asked out of curiosity if they had any rooms available for the dates I will be in...and can you believe me they only had rooms for the Radisson ? I better hurry up and book my restaurants...hopefully by tomorrow I'll have my tentative res.t schedule and names of where to eat....and maybe you can tell me if it sounds ok ! Thanks !

I've never heard of the Minnie train before :confused3 So a couple of Q's
Where does it run from/to?
Does it pass the Sequoia Lodge?
Does it cost to ride and if so have you any idea of how much?

Thanks for your help!

To all the compulsive planners our last trip was the first one since discovering the Disboards, I prebooked restaurants and planned our days around them, I made little notes of all the must do's, secrets to look out for etc. and we had the most fantastic trip. I only wish I'd discovered the boards before our previous trips I think we'd have got a lot more out of them.

Martina ditto Sarah's comments the NPB is a beautiful hotel I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The PG character tea is really worthwhile, we loved it. Let us know how you get on with RSTransport, they're certainly gaining a reputation as being the way to travel to DLP. :goodvibes

The Minnie Train goes around the lake, one of our members had some lovely photos from a trip earlier this year, I didn't go on it but my sister and niece did I think it was something like 2 euros p/p.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the info and the links!
Def another thing for us to look out for. I remember that style of train from hols I had as a child so I'd love to take my daughter on it! Plus its Minnie who she loves so even better!
