Okay, I've updated this post where I asked y'all for your thoughts and opinions and I've reworked some of the groups to incorporate your suggestions. This is what the thread will look like next Wednesday, February 11, when I open this swap for sign-ups.

I should have this up around 7:30 a.m. on the 11th, but there's always the possibility that I'll be a bit early or a bit late. If you will not be around to sign-up, please get a sign-up buddy to post your requests.

There are a lot of groups since there are so many characters and I couldn't decide which characters to leave out. I made the decision to leave them all in and we'll combine groups after sign-ups if we only have a couple of people in some groups. The title for the groups doesn't dictate anything about the group and doesn't mean you have to create your pieces to coordinate with that group. Like if the group name is Animal Kingdom, you do not have to create your characters to look like they are in Animal Kingdom. I titled the groups to try to put like characters together, but mostly to help me. I found that having the groups named helps me in keeping things straight.

You will notice that I already have SusieStone marked down for 3 groups. Susie was in an MGM swap last year where her pieces were lost in the mail. She redid those pieces for that swap. The original box was later found by USPS and returned to her. These 3 groups that I have marked are ones that weren't in the DHS swap that 123SA is currently hostessing and we've added them to this swap. So, Susie is already ahead of the game because I have received her pieces!!!:goodvibes

This is the INFORMATION only thread - This is NOT OPEN for sign-ups yet.

Character Elements Swap
Sign-ups will close on Tuesday, February 16

Due date is April 17 (that is when I need to receive your package). Please mail packages out by April 1 to ensure they are received by me by the deadline.

If you are new to swapping with us please only sign up for 2 groups.

1. Pick the spots in the groups you would like and post that request. When making your request, please include the Group letter. There are a lot of groups and it will help me get you in the correct group. For each spot you choose, you are required to make 2 elements from the list below for each person in your group.

To make it easier to get you in a spot, you may want to list your 1st and 2nd choices (or you can say you want anything in Group **) for a group incase your first choice is already taken. I will be filling them first come, first served.

After sign-ups close, I will try to combine any groups that have less than 3 swappers.

2. Check-in Dates:

• February 17 – verify your groups & pm me your Disname, real name, address, e-mail and phone number (last resort if I can’t contact you by other means).
• March 6
• March 20
• April 3
• April 10 – Mail by date

If you miss a check-in, I will PM/email you. If I do not hear from you 48 hours after that, your spots will be angeled. If you are going to be away for a check-in, let me know.

For the April 3rd check-in, please be specific with your progress, and list the groups you still need to finish and an anticipated mailing date (If you have not mailed already). I want to have a good sense that you will be able to accomplish your groups on time, or if we are going to need angels.

If I am worried that you will not be able to finish by the deadline, I will contact you to see if we need to angel some, or all of your groups. If at any time, you realize you need to cut down on the number of groups, or need an angel for all your groups PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I know it’s hard to admit when we are in over our heads, and it’s more fun to receive all the pretty pieces, but there will always be more swaps.

3. Packaging: Place your completed elements in a Ziploc bag with your DISname, name and group letter. Do not address your items to a particular swapper. (That makes it harder for me to sort!) Your label should look like this

DisneyIsTerrific
Stephanie Sadler
Group A

Take all of your baggies for a group and place them in GALLON size (or larger) bag, and label with the same. Please use the gallon bag (or larger) -- your items may fit in a smaller bag, but the items you receive back might not.

Please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope. (This cuts down on errors.)

4. Mailing: You may send to me, by any method you choose unless you are mailing after April 10. Then, you must mail Priority. I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. The rates are: Envelope or Small Box (9”x6”x2”) - $4.95, Standard box – $10.35, Large - $13.95.. However, if you want me to send by a different method, we can work that out. I won’t require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER April 1. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.65, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.65.

DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.

5. Due Date: This swap is due APRIL 17, 2009. Your package should be in the mail by April 10. I intend to only wait one week for packages that have been delayed by our lovely postal system, before I swap out. If you mail, April 11 or later, you must send Priority and you must use DC so I can verify the shipment and keep tabs on its status. I know emergencies can happen, and those will be handled on a case by case basis

6. Elements: This swap requires 2 elements be made for each person in each group. Each element is to be embellished 2 ways. Here is a list of the elements you may choose from:

Please note:
Each item must be embellished a minimum of 2 different ways. Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, Primas (flowers), stickles, ribbon/fiber, stickers, ink, chalk, sewing, and embossing. If it looks weird trying to fit in another embellishment, another layer of paper beyond the double matting can be used

For example: If you are making a title for Tigger. Your title could be BOUNCY. Of if your character is Stitch, the title could be TROUBLE. Mickey = THE BIG CHEESE.
Restriction – if you do a title, do not repeat your title choice. If you did your title on squares, you can’t do more squares for your element.

The groups look good overall to me- I have never seen Lumiere in France but Aurora meets there.

Sebastian that you have under misc. I have never seen out or heard of being out.

You don't have Daisy Duck anywhere that I noticed.

Another character out a lot is Governor Radcliff? (Pocohantas- he meets at DHS and AK).

Handy Manny is another Pre-k meet and greet.

Rebecca

Just trying to think of who you may have left off and I can only come up with Flik and Atta and Jack and Sally.

Looks good to me. But then I only go in the heat of August and a lot of the full body costume characters aren't out so I'm no help on who you might be missing.

The othe preschool one you can add iare Handy Manny, Annie, Quincy (these are the only other 3 that I know. I will tell you that 90% of the time JoJo and Goliath are together .... unless you go to Hollywood and Vine for a meal.

Thanks for your suggestions. I've made note of them for changing things around when I make the final lists.

As for characters I have on the list that you may not actually see at the park, I put them down for 2 reasons: 1: because I couldn't think of anything else to go with that group and 2: I thought these swap items may not just be used for pictures with the characters. We don't get our picture taken with the characters very often, but I use character pieces in my everyday life photos. Like I thought Lumiere could work on a page for a dinner party or a meal. And for the Cheshire Cat, I thought he'd work on a page with a cat who is looking all innocent when they've been misbehaving. For Sebastian, if I remember correctly, he's on something there in Ariel's Grotto and I thought someone might have taken a picture with that in the background. So, anyway, that was my thought process behind some of the characters.

And, I can't believe I forgot Daisy Duck. I almost forgot Chip&Dale too which is why I ended up with the Troublemakers group!

Anyway, I've noted your suggestions and will be making some adjustments before signups.

Thanks!!!!!:flower3:

Pre-school - -there is also Darby from Winnie the Pooh

For your villians group -- Evil Queen --is that Snow White?

Are the Fairy Godmother and the mice anywhere -- we usually meet them.

You could combine the stepsisters and and in Gov Radcliffe

We usually meet Timon in adventureland.

Thanks Susan. I had the mice and the Fairy Godmother on my list and then forgot to add them! I've made note of that and your other suggestions. Thanks for catching the Evil Queen as Snow White, I don't know why I put Cinderella. I'm just combining fairy tales!:rotfl:

Wow, what a large swap! I have meet over 185 characters in the past 3 years, and it looks like you have almost all of them on there!!!

But here are my thoughts:
1. You have some of these villains in places, but it would be great if you had them together in a group, like this:
Villains 2
Frollo
Jafar
Queen of Hearts
Captain Hook
Governor Radcliffe

2. Just a clarification on the list of princes - Prince Charming is Cinderella's prince. And Snow White's prince doesn't actually have a name - most people call him Snow Prince. So technically you have Cinderella's prince on there twice.

3. For group I. DHS – Preschool, it would be great to add Handy Manny and instead of individual characters for the Little Einsteins, have just one for Little Einsteins, like you did for Power Rangers in DHS.

4. Just wanted to clarify again, that Prince Charming is with Cinderella for group M. Snow White. Although I heard Prince Charming isn't actually so charming! :lmao: so he might be with Snow White occasionally!!!! :rotfl2:

5. For group N. Alice in Wonderland, instead of 5. Cheshire Cat, how about White Rabbit? You can meet the White Rabbit during special events.

Thanks for tackling this huge swap. Hopefully I will be able to join. :cool1:

MM, thanks for your comments/suggestions. I guess I just don't know my princes!!:rotfl: I've made note of your ideas and will rework the list soon.

I guess it's a good thing I asked for help! All of you have come up with great ideas.

Are you planning on having a Kiddos group? If not, Banana would like to play. Would anyone object?

Yes, coolcat would like to. I asked her what she would want in a group. She would like a small group -- max 4. I would like that for her, because 6 starts to seem like a chore for her. She would like to pick her spot as opposed to picking from a pre-set group, but that won't stop her from joining. Of course she wants to sign up for lots of groups, but 1 is enough. 2 if a spot needs to be filled.

That's what my thoughts on it were too. Small group (4 is perfect size) and let them pick their own character. Since we have at least 2 kids we know want to play, then I'll add a group for the kiddos and more if they need more!

Both WyFy and Little Bit wish for kiddo groups. They are open to picking or being told what to do. They are used to being told what to do. ;)

The groups look great!!! Is there anyone out there who might be willing to be a sign up buddy for me for this one? :wave2: I will be cruising the Caribbean at that time with my favorite mouse and won't be able to sign up. Thanks so much to anyone who can help. :goodvibes

I definitely know Im doing this one and not waiting till the last minute to join.
I am willing to be your buddy if you cant find someone closer to the time zone. I would hate for you to miss your group because of time zones!
I dont know what time DIT is opening this up so I dont know about time zones.
Thanks DIT for having a Kiddos group. Banana already knows who she wants!
And I think 4 is a good number for them because I agree they dont get overwhelmed. (I was afraid of 12 for the calendar until I realized I just did 16 for Weird!:crazy2: )

MichellePooh, I haven't finalized the groups yet. I still need to adjust things for the suggestions that have been made. I will post the final breakdown of groups next week. I will have the characters that are listed except for possibly Lumiere, Cheshire Cat, and Sebastian, but they may be in different groups that what I have here.

I will open sign-ups on the 11th in morning, probably around 7:30 after I get my son off to school. Anyone in the West or those who can't sign up at that time are welcome to get a sign-up buddy.

MM, thanks for your comments/suggestions. I guess I just don't know my princes!!:rotfl: I've made note of your ideas and will rework the list soon.

I guess it's a good thing I asked for help! All of you have come up with great ideas.

I'm still looking for my prince - so I try to keep track of who's out there. :lmao:

I can't possibly join this as I have no Disnye holiday in the pipeline and still loads of stuff to use :guilty: but it all looks fab to me:thumbsup2
