Character Spotting

I thought I'd start a new thread to encourage us to share where we have seen characters out and about recently, particularly as my family and I will be visiting in a few weeks time (from a selfish point of view!) but I also thought it would be good to help each other out.

I know the official times, but us seasoned visitors know that the unknown ones are best. Usually I'd be happy to just explore and see what I found but with only 2.5 days in the 2 parks and summer peak time ride queues, I just want to see as many as possible

For example, around Bella Notte/Small World has been a popular unofficial spot over the years.

Thanks for your help guys!

Hi there.

I'm not going to lie but on my most recent visit (May) I was terribly disappointed with the amount of characters on stage. We saw Mickey and Buzz in the WDS and then Russell from Up and the mice from Cinderella in the main park. Beyond that was only the timed ones as you mentioned.

We were there for 3 days and I too expected more of the surprise characters but it just didn't happen, perhaps I was just unlucky. :-(

Following this with interest - my daughter would love to see Peter Pan if anyone has spotted him!

We saw Peter Pan, Wendy and Mr Smee about three weeks ago (end June). They were at the spot where the old Following the Leader show used to be, just round the corner from the Chalet de la Marionnette restaurant. :)

Thank you Cherry!! We got some pixie dust last time with a lucky Rapunzel meet, praying this time we see Peter, DD1 adores him!

Don't forget to visit the DLH at 4.00pm Thursday to Sunday for meet and greets! Sunday will have the Brunch characters - we met Peter and Wendy after the Neverland Sunday Brunch!

The gates between Fantasyland and Discoveryland (where the parade starts from) harbours hidden meet and greets, and also Fantasyland near Auberge you can sometimes spot characters. Between Videopolis and where Captain EO used to be you can catch the odd character milling around.

Alice/Madhatter can sometimes be found near her maze or in the general area too. Pot luck really, as sometimes you can be incredibly lucky, sometimes not.......

Thanks! So now that the summer school holidays have kicked in has anyone noticed anymore characters wandering about in non scheduled places and times? We're going in less than 2 weeks so were all getting very excited!

Stephanie is a master at finding characters. She said to check at city hall, also when you see a handler go follow them, that mean characters. Try to find her here and she can tell you all her tricks.

As you stand in Fantasy land and look at the back of the castle, we saw Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum on the left side of the castle as it leads to the path to the wishing well.

Saw Peter Pan and Wendy and Mr. Smee.

That was it on July 8.

Thanks for the link. Great site!

So how about the hotels then folks for characters? Does anyone know what time theyve been coming out in the mornings in the hotels and has there been any trends with the characters appearing.

Characters are in their own meet and greet area on each hotel and are out between 8-11am :) They switch every half hour and will be in the hotel specific outfits :-)

When does this end? Is it some time in November? I think the characters will be placed in the park during EMH instead.

Ends first week in november. Just before the park changes to xmas season. I think it said the 7th or the 9th. Xmas starts officially on the 10th but usually it's parades etc start a couple days before. I'm sad as we're not there till 17th so no hotel meets for us this time.
