Character queues

Would it be possible for me and hubby to take turns in the character queues whilst the other occupies the littleys (3 and 2 so not brill at waiting!) or is this not the done thing!!

We did this when queuing for Mickey and minnie what people hate are the ones who push their kids to the front then run off thinking people won't kick the kids out of the queue!
