For those of you coming to Orlando, I recommend stopping at the the Belz Outlet Malls for the Disney Outlet stores there. They seem to have a MUCH bigger selection that the Orlando Premium Outlet does. I picked up an Animal Kindom baby doll t-shirt that had an original price tag of $25, marked down to $12. When I took it to the counter, it was marked down to $8. Eh, I figured I needed to promote where I'm gonna be working ;)

At any rate, they have TONS of plush, shirts, glassware, etc. All three stores have completely different merchandise. Heck, the Haunted Mansion beanies were $1.99....and It's A Small World t-shirts and hats were under $10 (picked some up for Maddy for our family trip tomorrow). Definetly worth it to stop in!

I know I'm going in August do you remember which buildings these two stores were in? If not did the mall at least have a map?

Thanks!
Tink

PS- Congrats on your new job as a CM!

We will be stopping by on our trip in July. Can usally always find something in there that we like and most of shirts are at least always half off.

In Mall 2, across the hall from the Disney outlet is a Hard Rock Cafe outlet. Super cheap prices.
They are not actually HRC. They buy discontinued items from HRC.

Oh man, I REALLY hope those Haunted Mansion beanies are still there when we head down there in 3 weeks!!!
I REALLY REALLY want the Haunted Mansion beanies. I was just going to pay full price for them at MK, but shoot if I can get them for $1.99 I would MUCH rather do that.

Hmmm...I wonder if I can get DH to stop at the outlet mall before checking in at our resort??????

Good morning from the Magnolia State!!

The magnolias are in bloom and the scent is divine!

Thanks so much for all the info about the outlet mall. We visited the Premiere outlet last summer, and I'm sure we will try Belz for this visit. I am busily scribbling notes in my travel notebook about what to do, where to go. I think I'm going to have it filled before we leave! It sounds like we can spend a whole day at he outlet mall. Ya'll are all such great information sources. What would we do without the DIS boards? ::yes::

And, are you going to working at AK or at the outlet mall? We always stop at Beltz when we come (are coming in Sept), and I would love to pop in and say a quick hello, Stepharoonie! There is a great manager working at one of those Beltz outlets. Her name is Victoria (?). I am so jealous of you home address, but was talking to DH last night....and still might convince him to make us Floridians someday.....

Yes, it is the Grim Grinning Ghosts. They had a TON of them! I'm sure they'll still be there. I believe they had the Wedding Minnie also marked down that low, along with Brer Frog (which is funny, 'cause he was retail at Splash Mountain today) and all sorts of brand new shirts. If any of you ran in the January Marathon, the t-shirts are $5 a piece now.

I'll be working at the AKL. Woot! :)

Hey Steph,

Pretty soon you'll be able to use your CM discount at those stores! At least my CM friend did last year when we went shopping there with her.

I have gone to all three of the Disney outlets and been very satisfied however, I just wanted to say that it has been my experience recently that if it is marked down in the outlet it will also be marked down in the park to the same price. Trust me I am not saying do not go to the outlet I am only saying that if you do no see it in the outlet they might have it in the park. When I first started going to the outlet, this was not the case. The items at the park would be full price but marked down at the outlet. Not the best way to make friends. I am sure the CM's got sick of people complaining so the situation was fixed. The good part about the outlet is you can get discontinued items and it is a store full of bargains that you do not have to search out. However, not everything in the outlets is marked down. Be careful of that also.

Visiting the Disney outlet shops is a highlight of each of our trips. My DH and I just love them. We always manage to find a few polo shirts for him and they stay in perfect shape for years. We also manage to find a bunch of t-shirts for the whole family. We usually go to the outlets after we have been to the parks a few days and have seen what is in the theme park shops. This allows us to to know what is actually a bargain and a good mark down price. There have been many times we have seen clothing or momentos at the outlets that are the same price as in the regular theme park shops.

Also, the merchandise does change constantly. One year we found a ton of stuff to buy. The next year, we left with just a few items from the outlets but found a ton of bargains at Downtown Disney. Now this past year, we found more of our bargains at the outlets.

I'm hoping to be back over Labor day. I'm already saving my dollars for our shopping trips.
