Is there a particular park that has more charcters then the others? Specifically more non-Princess (I only have boys) characters? We are going for 8 days and planned on 2 days MK 2 Days EP 1 Day AK 1 Day HS and then using the other 2 days for whichever parks we want to go back to (no parkhoppers) and I'd really like to spend the extra time at the parks w/ the most characters. My boys are 6 and 8 (will turn 9 after we get home) and neither like rollercoasters, not to mention youngest is too short anyway. Plan on doing a lot of the rides and shows etc, but hoping since we aren't doing any of the "thriller" type rides we'll miss a lot of the longer lines which would = more time for character greets

TIA!

MK has Peter Pan & Hook with Smee by PotC, Stitch & Buzz in Tomorrowland, those are what I would call draws for boys That is who DS liked at that age. All the parks are going to have Characters all over the place, just ask & CM's will tell you.

Can I add my Epcot has always been DS favorite park, so be sure to spend sometime there.

DHS has power rangers , McQueen and mator , mike and sulley ,and at about 2-3 pm out by the hat all kinds of character come out and go do lights motor action stunt show , if your boys like cars or motorcycles they will love this

Take this for what you will, but I'd like to make a suggestion that may save you some time in line.

On our first trip we waited in numerous lines (long ones...Ariel alone was almost 2 hours) to meet characters. After waiting for numerous character meets at the begining of our trip, by the end we were done waiting...the kids were antsy in line, DS (11 months at the time) was fussy, DD (then 7) was whinning because she wanted to meet, but not wait, DH was "missing optimal ride time," etc., etc. By the end of the trip, we had quit waiting to see characters.

By the time our Grand Gathering rolled around, I had figured out how to meet the specific characters the kids wanted to see (we had ours, plus DNiece & DNephews) without the hours on end wait. Plan to eat at places that have characters you want to see. We ate at Liberty Tree & Tusker House (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy & Donald), AkerHaus (saw the princesses-minus Cinderella), Hollywood &Vine (Little Einstiens & Jojo).

We did have the dining plan and I did make ADRs, but some of them were at off times. Liberty Tree we had the first dinner time ressie, Akerhaus, Tusker House, & Hollywood we ate around 10:30/11:00 which was the last of breakfast, but because we ate late (not to mention a ton) we had our dinners later those days and were fine having brunch vs. lunch. It saved a lot of time and aggravation having the characters come to us, instead of standing in multiple lines with a bunch of crabby kids and crabby adults! :lmao:

I did buy a book that had which characters were at which restaraunts and that helped with the planning.

ETA-I just thought of something else. DNephew3(at the time) was afraid of the characters at first, but because the character meets are a little more "intimate" they were able to coax him a bit. There wasn't the rush to get on to the next person in line. By the end of the trip, he was waving the characters to our table.:lovestruc I don't think he would have come around if we had been standing in line for hours on end.

During our Oct trip with my 2 boys, ages 4 and 6, we met lots of characters. DHS was a favorite, it had power rangers, incredibles, buzz/woody, cars, little einsteins, sorcerer mickey. At MK, we saw captain hook/mr smee, buzz, chip/dale and lots others at MNSSHP. We did the character trails at AK and saw mickey/minnie, chip/dale/pluto, koda/kenai bears along with King Louie/Baloo near Tusker. We did character spot at Epcot and saw Fab5 and then Marie, Timon, Belle, Stictch behind character spots. (see our oct trip report for pictures of the characters).

You can check out the Steve Soars site listing the character meet and greets. Study them and pick out which characters you'd like to see. I agree with PP that character meals are a great place to visit with characters in a more relaxed setting.

Have fun planning!
