What do you think needs to happen for Character Meets to resume?
Do you all think it has more to do with staffing issues or CDC guidelines?

Disney is always slower to do things than other companies especially when safety is involved. Its going to be a staffing thing most likely first but they may not just open it back up right away the day the CDC gives the green light.

I think at this point it's staffing. I think once the revenue generators are running on all cylinders or at least closer to all cylinders, the Meet & Greets will return.

Definitely staffing. But they do need the meet and greets eventually to handle some of the crowd traffic.

I doubt it will happen due to staffing, etc but I would love to see the cavalcades continue even after they re-start the meet 'n greets. My DD isn't interested in meeting the characters any longer, but this mama would love to see them in a cavalcade! :)

Fingers crossed they come back soon, but I'm sure shows are first priority since they can handle larger crowds.

A little bit of one and a little bit of the other id wager though interesting that they are planning to still have cavalcades and not bring festival of fantasy back anytime soon

I'd never understood why the fur characters had to be socially distanced.

I just hopes it happens this year. DD hugging a princess is one of the essentials for us to go back.

Oh, I hope hope hope they are back for our early November trip. Last trip, my son was scared of characters and he refused to get in ANY charcater pictures - if you looked at the hundreds of pictures in our Memory Maker you’d think he wasn’t even there! He’s totally over his fear now and ready to make up for it (even though he’s a too cool 10 year old now it’s cute he still wants to make up for missing out last time.) And it will be my 5 year old’s first trip and she LOVES princesses! She’s seen all the pictures from last time we were there right before she was born and is ready for HER TURN. Oh I HOPE they get them back in action in time for the 50th!

I would think all characters would have to have immunity, either through vaccines or testing for antibodies. Otherwise, could you imagine one Princess getting Covid from one little kid, and then spreading it on to many, many kids and their families. Getting all those CMs in their 20s vaccinated isn’t straightforward, so it may be awhile before they can find enough staff.

I don't think you'll see this for a while, maybe fall. Not so much about the CMs as it is having guests getting close/hugging and then the need to safely get out of the costume, get it cleaned and then reused.

Same reason we couldn't find wipes, bleach, etc. We were all led to believe that Covid spread on surfaces at a much higher rate then we know now. Plus how do you sanatize a "fur" character between hugs - and there is no way you'll stop every kid from wanting to wrap their arms around the leg of one of them. Plus then you risk spreading to the CM in the costume, who's stifled already and can you imagine making them wear a mask too?

I hope they bring back in person meet and greet character breakfasts, but I do like the cavalcades. We weren't going to stop for a parade or in-park meet and greet but it is nice to be able to see the characters out and about.

Maybe a happy medium like add photopass photographers when staffing is adequate with stitch in Tomorrowland or other Selfie meet locations

Might have something to do with OSHA , as OSHA dictates what is safe for employees during this pandemic.

The rumor I’d heard was they were aiming for Oct. 1, but there’s no plans in place yet. Hopefully that’s true, my kids are dying to meet Stitch.
