When looking at the character meet schedules, I've noticed that some say 8a-9p (or something similar) while others say 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 5:00 and so on.

What's the difference between the two? If Mulan is going to be there at 1, 2 & 3 does that mean she is there from 1 until 3 or does she come for a half hour, 45 minutes or so and then leave for a period of time and then come back after a couple minutes' break?

Where are you looking at these schedules?

Characters that have their own, indoor designated spots- AKA the Princesses in Fairy Tale Hall, Ariel in her grotto, Mickey in town hall, Tinkerbell in town hall, etc. will show up on the schedule from 8a-9p because they meet from park open to park close with little interruption.

Characters like those in the WS who meet outdoors (like Mulan in the China pavilion) have a more complicated schedule (1:00, 2:00, 3:30, etc.). They'll come out at their designated time, meet for 30 or so minutes, and then go back inside (so the latter part of your post hits the nail on the head!)

Hope you get to meet all your favorite characters :)

There are schedule master-lists online (like Kenny the Pirate), but the Disney Experience app shows character times if you go to a specific park and tap the "characters" option.

I was looking at the Disney site under "Events". Was initially looking for La Nuoba (sp) info but saw all kinds of Meets as I was scrolling through.

So if a character is listed for 1:00, 2:00 & 3:00, the best idea would be to hit at the beginning of those hours (i.e. 1:00-1:30 or 2:00-2:30) to stand a better chance of actually seeing them?

I'm not sure how obsessive we're going to be about character meets and have quite a few character meals planned to cover most of our "must haves" but I know there were a couple princesses on our last trip that DD didn't see and would like to this time.

Yes. In fact, I would get there 5 or 10 minutes before the characters come out. If you're planning on meeting, say, Peter Pan or Gaston, their lines fill up ridiculously fast- sometimes a CM has to cut off the line before the characters even come out!

Have a great vacation :)

Thank you for such helpful advice!! I'm so antsy to sit down and type up our daily itineraries (I'm a planning nerd -- I get some strange high from making plans so the ease of the MDE app does nothing for me, lol)... just wish I had an evening to sit down and do it!
