What restaurants offer character meals? I only saw Confiscos has a character breakfast. Anywhere else? and if so what characters do they offer?

There are some character meals at the hotels but there's no set schedule for which characters appear. Confisco's is the only character meal in the parks.

I think all three of the on site hotels have character dinners, but not breakfast. Looks like they are available whether you stay on or off site.

Scooby and Shaggy, Shrek and Fiona and The Simpsons all appear at the resort hotels during dinner. You don`t need to be a hotel guest to eat at any of the restaurants.

We have seen them in Jake`s Bar as well as The Islands at RPR. Nights can change so maybe give the hotels a call and they will be able to tell you when they are appearing.

The interaction with them was fantastic

We visit The islands on a Wednesday everytrip, just to get our pic with S&S as it has always been a Wed for the last 6 years that they appear there, also go on a Sat and various other nights but not for characters ,we just love the food there.

just to say we are always there in July, and have never made a reservation at RPR for dinner.
And those staying offsite like PP said can visit any resort restaurant to eat

Hi there - does anyone know which characters appear where? I had emailed US this week to see who appears (typically) at Confisco and they told me "Characters at the breakfast include: Spider-Man™, The Cat in the Hat™, and Thing 1™ and Thing 2™†. " I would love to see Scooby and Shaggy and/or Shrek and Fiona but would also love Spiderman too!! Also, I was told you can only book your meals (at Confisco anyways) up to 30 days in advance. Has anyone ever had a problem making a reservation 30 days out? Thanks!

Glad to hear that Scooby & Shaggy are regulars at the Islands dining room. My DD is so excited about our trip in Oct. because of the chance to meet Scooby. She is a Scooby-Doo fanatic. Do they sign autograph books at the restaurant?

Thanks everyone! We will only be there from a Sunday to Friday. So I will look into one on a Wednesday at Islands Dinning Room. Is this a Buffett or order from menu?

i have never had to book a ressie at the Island for dinner.
I go in the fall for HHN period and never had an issue in getting seated right away.

the characters for dinner last year when i was there in october were scooby.
yes, they sign autographs.

the confisco grill breakfast character only has the characters that were listed above by universal.
only during christmas time it can deviate to breakfast with the Grinch.

the dinner menu is fuller than the lunch one at islands.

you need to call the hotel to see what day of the week the characters will be at resturaunt you plan to dine.

they do move around to different hotel resturaunts during the week.

So I just called Universal dining reservations again, and she told me that all of the character meals include just 2 characters, usually a matched pair (scooby and shaggy, bart and homer, etc). I am kind of disappointed. I guess I got used to Disney with 5-6 characters included. I am wondering if it's worth it now.

yes, the characters rotate on different days and at different hotels.

i wouldn't be disappointed.
can't compare it to disney.

the characters at universal dinners will talk with you, entertain you and stay in character the entire time.

you'll be at the point of, ......just move along so i can eat now......'tude.

if there are not many in the restaruant when you are there, they will stay with you a long time.

i had the shaggy team last october during dinner at the Islands for over 17 minutes.

not many were there when i was.

and i was solo........

shaggy wanted to entertain me thinking i was lonely.


if you want more characters, just go to one of the other characters when they will be there.
that way you can catch most of them.

you have to eat dinner somewhere so this might work out for your group.
you get food, and entertainment....

We went last year Memorial Week, we will again this year.

You can make reservations 30 days before and you have to call or e-mail.

Confisco Grill- We saw Spiderman and Cat In The Hat. We saw Thing 1 and Thing 2 circulate earlier while we were waiting to get in, but they weren't there during our breakfast time.
-thoughts; the breakfast is a regular buffet, so so. Interaction with Spiderman was FANTASTIC. Although a faceless character, he does speak and is very interactive. Showed my DS how to fend off the bad guys with our mister/fan although he says it was better if we had ours attached to our wrists like his. Worthwhile with him. Cat In The Hat was the usual pose and sign autographs. Was disappointed in not seeing Thing 1 and Thing 2 although was there for 1.5 hrs. It was easier getting autographs and pics in Seussland. Except for Spiderman, character breakfast wasn't worth it. Our reservation was a late breakfast one so didn't know if that had anything to do with it.

Islands at RPR Wed nite- saw Scooby Doo. Made reservations promptly 30 days out, and was the only family there that night! Let's say, Scooby Doo was very ATTENTIVE. He traversed from Jakes restaurant across the ways and over to see us several times during dinner. He helped pick out my DD's menu choices, played with my DS' hair, ran rings around one of the servers, he was great!

Never saw a restaurant so empty, felt embarrassed I even made reservations (nothing like Disney).

I did hear more voices coming from Jake's, so I guess everyone else was there.

While there is only 2 usually at the hotels, like Macraven said, they will spend time with you, and unlike Disney, the meal is the same price as it would be when there is no Characters, so you are not paying any extra
