My family will be going to Disneyland in 2011!!!! We are not newbies, but my sister and I both have kids now! :woohoo: My nephew will be 4, my DS will be 2 and we will have a little prince or princess by then that will be a few months old!!!! :lovestruc: What character meal would you recommend for the boys? My mom agreed that to go to one!!!!!

Anywhere except Ariel's in DCA. That's the only princess place.

But 2yo may not like Chararters, they could be scary, 4 yo probably ok. It's hard to say until you try it.

Goofy's Kitchen in DLH would be a fun place to take younger boys. The character interaction there is amazing and they really take the time to interact with the kids. Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale are almost guarantees there and you'll probably see 1-2 characters there including Baloo, a princess (Belle, Aurora, Mulan, Jasmine and Snow White are usually seen there), Aladdin and Prince Phillip also make appearances there.

Minnie & Friends in DL Park has the most characters at any one time (I think I counted 11 when I went). I saw Minnie, Chip, Dale, Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, Tigger, Pooh, Max, White Rabbit, Rafiki and one other character. I believe Peter Pan also makes appearances there and some others.

Storytellers in GCH is a critter breakfast where you meet all the woodsy characters such as Baloo, Meeko, Chip and Dale.

Surf's Up with Mickey and Friends in PPH is the only character meal that Mickey is at. Stitch and Daisy can also be found there as well.

Hope this helps :goodvibes

Another vote for Goofy's Kitchen; there's a good variety of Characters (both "furry" and "face" Characters), and the selection/quality of food can't be beat!

We did Goofy's Kitchen for an early dinner - 5:30. It was great because it wasn't crowded yet and my boys loved it.
We did Surf's Up late breakfast as well- very fun. The crowds were leaving and by 11am it was almost empty and still characters there

My (then) 7 yr old & 5 yr old (oh and me/wife) did bkfst at Goofy's Kitchen, ditto on the awesome character interaction. We had reservations for ~8:30am, and it wasn't crowded at all.

The food was *ok*, not wonderful, but then again we went for breakfast and how good can buffet pancakes/french toast/mass produced eggs be :-) The fruit was awesome, kids had a few too many muffins, so in general a great experience and worth the price.
