Ok so in the past trips my character dinners were limited to Liberty Tree Tavern, and I am so sad its no longer for that, i will miss Minnie's dress..

My question is this... My wife will be a first timer and i currently have:

Tusker House Breakfast
Chef Mickey's
1900 Fare Dinner

Non Char. Meals I have:
Espn Club (BW)
Liberty Tree
Hoop Dee Do Revu
Tepan Edo
Planet Hollywood

Should I change anything... Add a Charchter meal, We are pretty simple when it comes to our taste in food so it cannot be too off the wall.

We really like breakfast at Crystal Palace, also we liked breakfast at Norway. The atmosphere at Chef Mickey's is great, however the food is just ok. I think you have some other good choices. We always do Planet Hollywood and ESPN. The last couple of years we have added Teppan Edo and really enjoyed it.

It really just depends on what you want to do. Chef Mickey and 1900 Park Fare are the only resort character dining meals for dinner. There are other character meals in MK and other theme parks and at resorts for breakfast only. If you want Minnie and breakfast, she is at Cape May Breakfast at Beach Club, but I think she has on Swim clothes.

I figured based on the suggestion to go ahead and add breakfast at Cape May Cafe at Beach Club... Epcot opens at 9 that day, and the ADR is at 7:45 so that should be plenty of time to eat and be at epcot when it opens...

Do they open the back entrance the one from where the boats from YC, BC, & BW go even though it is in millennium village and that doesn't typically open as early.

Finally, we are doing all CS lunch, and planned dinners to make must of Disney Deluxe Dining plan and 2 breakfasts... is 4 charachter meals too many? its my wifes first visit...

Can't answer the 1st question. As for the second, I don't think 4 character meals is too many. We stay a week each year and have at least 3 character meals each visit. I think they are great as you get some character time (take pictures, autographs, etc.) without having to stand and wait in those long character lines in the parks. Most of the character meals are buffet or homestyle, so you get to pick your quantity of food. As for food quality, the only one where I thought the food was bad was breakfast at Hollywood N Vine with Playhouse Disney characters.

I have to agree with the pp that Hollywood and Vines' food wasn't the best, we had it for dinner and didn't enjoy it, would not go back. Haven't had 1900 Park Fare for dinner but, did have it for breakfast and it's now our favorite. Love the Mad Hatter, he's worth the price of admission alone! One of the best breakfasts at Disney in my opinion. You may also want to consider Ohana at the Poly, not a character meal but very good. :thumbsup2

My husband and I went to 'Ohana for both breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both. I also want to clarify that breakfast at 'Ohana IS a character breakfast served family style with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. Dinner is not a character meal. It was great, going back this March/April.

If you are looking at more places to eat:

'Ohana dinner is really good, so is breakfast
Le Cellier
Coral Reef
50's Prime Time Cafe

Sci-Fi Dine in (Hollywood Studios)

Le Cellier (EPCOT / Canada) I would deff. go here for lunch or dinner.. Try to get in now or it will be booked

California Grill

You are sooo right, I totally meant to specify Ohana dinner. We have eaten the dinner twice and loved it both times. Have yet to try the character breakfast there but it's on the "to do" list for next trip! Either way I don't think you can go wrong with Ohana. Thanks for catching that! :) I also second the Sci-Fi suggestion for lunch, very enjoyable. :thumbsup2

When you enter the park from BC/YC or Boardwalk, you are not coming in at Millennium Village. You come in at the International Gateway (a gift shop and down a short walkway to United Kingdom). Boats are running but the walk from Cape May is less than 10 minutes along the canal. It really is a nice walk. Since World Showcase does not open until 11:00 they have a cast member there with the rope so you cannot make a right heading over to France. You can walk over to Future World for all of their attractions. Nice time to take pictures of UK and Canada as no one is bascially there.

We love Cape May. Crystal Palace has all the Winnie the Pooh characters and the food was excellent. 1900s has Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the evil stepmother/stepsisters. Ohana has Lilo and Stitch. Would 4 character meals be too much? - there is such an assortment of characters at so many of the restuarants, I would definitely say NO. Especially for a first timer.

Be prepared - your wife might be planning the next trip before you leave! Have a great time!:yay:
