Hi,
I would love to know your thoughts on the BEST character meal in your opinion. We are travelling with a 2 and 5 year old boys. They love Mickey and Buzz. Any thoughts? Not sure if breakfast or dinner is preferred yet.

Our son is 6 and last year we took him to Liberty Tree Tavern in MK for dinner. He loved it. It is one of the more quiet character meals and you are visited by Minnie, Chip, Dale and Meeko (I think that was his name). The food is very good, and since it is a smaller restaurant, the characters visit multiple times.

This time we are trying out Chef Mickeys. I've heard it is quite an experience!!

We love the breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Winnie the Pooh and Crew. It's a must for us every trip for the past 9 years.

Another vote for Crystal Palace. We are all Pooh fans, and the restaurant is just cool (temp-wise) and beautiful. The food is awesome, too!

We also loved the Ohanas breakfast buffet, with Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale.

I don't think Buzz is at any of the character meals??

For food, atmosphere, characters, you can't beat 1900 Park Fare, for either breakfast or dinner. It's the best character dining experience we've had at WDW! We love it.

We've done most of the character meals at WDW and Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's are my kids' favorites. (CM's for breakfast and CP for dinner)

:)

We've done every character meal except the new breakfast at Norway and we like Liberty Tree and Crystal Palace the best. There are some that aren't around anymore like there used to be a breakfast one at MGM that had the Aladin Characters. We also use to really like the Garden Grill but I've heard the menu is changed. The thing my family like about Liberty Tree is that the characters are dressed in colonial clothing and the food is served family style so if you want more, they just bring it to your table and you don't have to get up and get it like a cafeteria-style restaurant. They also serve a honey butter there that is great.

This past May we had 2 character meals:
  • Once Upon A Time Breakfast with Cinderella: At the time we went I believe it was called Cinderella's Royal Breakfast. My 5DD loved it. She wore her Cinderella dress and all the princesses told her how much they loved it. They also addressed her by name. After reading the mixed reviews I wasn't expecting too much with the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. All 5 adults in our party loved the meal. The food alone was well worth the price, but coupled with our daughter's joy from meeting the princesses, this character dining experience is a must do.
  • The Crystal Palace Character Meal: We made PS reservations for the lunch buffet. I think my daughter enjoyed this character experience even more than the princess meal. The children parade around the restaurant with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. And, again, I was blown away by the quality of the food.

We also had the Mother's Day Brunch at the World Showplace at Epcot. Various male characters visited the waiting area. The food was fantastic.

i was very impressed with the quality of food at every meal including the various counter service restaurants we visited.

Sound like your boys would like Chef Mickey's. It's my favorite character meal and it's high energy! The characters do a dance and they have everyone wave their napkins over their heads! Very cute! Plus I like that you get to meet Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. I've never done the dinner, but the breakfast food is excellent.

I love Crystal Palace's Pooh breakfast too, but with two boys at that age, I'd go for Chef Mickey's.

are all so awesome! I cannot believe how helpful everyone is! Plus, I don't have to wait long for replies. Thanks so much for your help! :)

:earsboy: I think you should do Chef Mickey. That is really the only one where you can see Mickey to my knowledge. Well, Ohana also, but that was okay.

The others are great, have been to all except 1900 Park Fare, and love Chef Mickey, Cape May Cafe, and Liberty Tree the best. Crystal Palace is great food and fun, but it is Pooh characters.

chef mickeys i would say. just went there with 5yr old boy, 8 yr old girl and `16 year old boys. it was great. we did dinner.

you can see buzz in tomorrowland at mk. he is not at a character meal. chef mickeys has chip and dale, mickey, minnie, goofy, donald duck.

we also loved the crystal palace for breakfast for pooh and the gang.

if you can do both i would do cp for breakfast and chef mickeys for dinner.

We always go to the Crystal Palace for breakfast with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet--it's a must for us. You might like Chef Mickey's--it's not our favorite. We've tried it several times and mostly we've been disappointed with the character interaction (very rushed) and the food.

We are Pooh fans so our favorite is Crystal Palace but for Mickey we like Chef Mickeys!

You can see Mickey (as a farmer) at Garden Grill in Epcot, but I haven't eaten there yet to comment on the food or experience. You can also see Safari Mickey at Restaurantosaurus at AK.

This is a great page to reference when picking character meals.....

The Garden Grill is excellent, I love their food and the changing scenery is very nice. The characters are usually Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. Usually it's one of the one's that doesn't fill up fast.

I also love Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. I still have to get a trip in to both places before I leave lol

I would definetly do Chef Mickey's. :earsgirl: We had breakfast there Monday and we are mostly older people 14 and ^ and we all loved it! There is Mickey Minnie, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald was there too. We had ample oppurtunity to meet all the characters. Each one came around to our table at least once if not twice and the food was amazing :earboy2:

I'll agree with the majority and suggest Chef Mickey's. We just went last week and enjoyed the meal and the characters. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Goofy.

I absolutely loved Crystal Palace. Beautiful restaurant, good breakfast, and POOH! of course I'm a big Pooh fan from way back.
