Kids too old? My girls are 15 and 12. We're going to Disney in late March and wondering if a Character meal is too juvenile. Last time we went was 9 years ago and couldn't afford one of these. Also, made res for Hoop Dee Doo and wondering if the $197.00 price is way too steep.....?

DS is 15 and DD is 18 and still get a kick
out of character meals/interaction (after all
they are in WDW).
Hoop-dee-do is a favorite.

One thing w/ character meal, your girls are considered adults, now. So if they are not large eaters it may not be adventagous to do a character meal. Our DD's are teens and not large eaters, so we now forego these meals. I wish WDW would have a junior/teen price for these character meals.

The HHDR is a great show! You are paying for the show, so I feel this is a good choice.

Though I am sure each child regardless of age is different here is my take on it. Our son just turned 12 and agreed to eat at Crystal Palace again even though there are characters there. He doesn't mind running into them in the parks and I can even convince him to have a occasional picture with them.
On our first trip, my 2 older boys (are 21 and 19 now) were in there teens and not thrilled with the character dinner at the Gardern Grill that we had planned, but the pictures of Chip and Dale goofing off with them are priceless!!
I would think I would find one that has characters that the girls would have some interest in and give it a shot.
We also did the Hoop Dee Doo and had a blast, even my husband who at first balked at the price wants to do it again. Hope you have a great time.

Pam

It is a matter of what the teen is like. We have teen girls and they still consider it OK to go to character meals particularly if you are talking about a dinner like at Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern rather than a breakfast (they condemn breakfast meals mainly because neither will get out of bed before 10). Hoop Dee Doo will be enjoyed by all. Note though, that if you want to have that one large expensive show to go to and can only choose one, then I would suggest paying somewhat more than Hoop Dee Doo and going to Cirque du Soleil which is the best show in WDW (and in Florida ... and in the Southeast US) but does not have a dinner.

We took our 15 year DS last November and he loved it. We were seated towards the front of the stage, so we could hear and see everything well. I think it helped him enjoy it more. The last time we got PSs at the last moment and our seats were not the best.
