Character Meals Super Thread!!

So what's the deal with the princess breakfast now? We went a few years ago when it was the tower of food to share at your table. But now it looks like you order from a menu? Is it still a "premium" character meal? I know it's all about the interaction & not the food, but ...

I really wish he'd pick a different character dining experience but I can't argue with his reasoning on it: he already got autographs from the regular, main, characters last trip so wants to get other ones this time.

I actually really enjoy Storytellers, because you can order off the menu if you don't want the buffet. And it felt much more relaxed than some of the other character meals I have been to. Already have it booked for the first week of May.

Full disclosure...I haven't been to any other character meals at DL :) Have been to plenty at WDW, though.

We've been twice to Ariels, 2011 and 2013. The tower/shared plate still exists just for appetizers and dessert. Each diner orders his/her own entree. You can see the menu on All Ears. Yes, it's still a premium meal (Ariel's and Goofy's are the 2 premium ones).

We vastly prefer Goofy's over Ariel's and plan to do that again on our upcoming trip.

What are the current prices? We are.going in 3 weeks and I want to know if it's a good deal to purchase the vouchers ahead of time.

:) Awesome! Hope we get to see her too.

I have another question for anyone who has gone to the dinner at Ariel's Grotto: since they stopped doing the World of Color dinner package there, they have the princesses at dinner now, correct? My husband found some info saying they weren't at dinner, but I think that was old info. Thanks.

I had lunch at Ariel's last week, and was told the princesses aren't there at dinner.

Thanks for bumping this, I was looking for it.

We did Surfs Up breakfast last year {sept 13} and was happy with the food and the character interaction. We stayed a PP and had a 8 am ressie. DL didn't open until 10, so we had time to get there without being rushed. EMH was CA that day.

We're going back again in Sept and working out the details now. Thinking GK on check-in night for dinner, and staying at DLR. Debating if we should do AG for breakfast or lunch and if we should do PI for breakfast the other day. DD is too young for ST.

How is the AG interaction/character selection breakfast vs lunch?

I called Disney today and Goofy's is $31/adults and $16/kids for breakfast.

I have a character meal question. As part of the ABD, I get three Character Meals (twice at Storytellers Cafe and once at Plaza Inn), but I am not sure I will have time for a 45 minute meal at Storytellers on the morning I leave (have a 1 PM Flight and expect to leave by 9:30 AM). Is it fine to tell the character handler or server that you don't want the Characters to visit?

If you show up by 8am, you should have enough time. When I was there before, there really aren't a lot of characters at Storytellers.

Is this the high or low season price? Does anyone know the cost of Minnie's breakfast for high season? It's supposed to be cheaper than Goofy's, but I thought it was close to $30, perhaps it's closer to $25.

Just at Ariel's two days ago for lunch. Appetizers are now selected individually by each person. Entree is same, selected individually off a set menu. Dessert was a trio for each person except the kids got a duo of desserts. Characters were Ariel (at entrance only), Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle. I thought it was a very good meal and interaction.

Hello!

I'm sure the answer to this is likely 'no' but I thought I'd ask anyway. Do Anna and Elsa make appearances during any of the character dining experiences?

Thanks!

No they don't, unfortunately! The only place to meet them is at their official M&G.

I would give almost anything to have Tinker Bell appear at one. :-( My kid is Tinker NUTS and we have to spend time waiting in line at Pixie Hollow every single trip.

We found Storytellers to be boring. Too quiet and the characters were mostly unknowns. Some bears.

Love Goofy's, Ariel's Grotto and Plaza Inn. Great character interaction, nice buffets.
