I thought it would be nice to have a Character Meals review. Im not sure if there is one floating out there, if so please give me the link :)

WE are headed to DW in Dec. We are on the Dining Plan. We have ADR for...

Crystal Palace Lunch
Hollywood and Vine Lunch
Arkershus Lunch

I was thinking about adding Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner (4pm if it is available). Is the food good? DH keeps telling me he wants a turkey dinner. lol Of all things! This sounds like a goodhearty meal. How is it served? Is it the Family style... I can tell its not buffet, but how is it served?

ANyway, just wondering. There are so many trip reviews and it is late here to try and sort though them.

Any help is good help! Read aweful things about Hollywood and Vine, but I think we will keep our rez...the kids LOVE Little Einsteins and JoJo...so I just hope we have a great server. If not, money saved in a tip that's for sure!

Ok, so I just saw pics of the food on the Food Porn thread. So my question is..do they keep it replenished? Or are you jsut served those first plates of food and that is it?
Ok, really late here and now Im hungry from looking at all the food pics. Must go to bed!!:surfweb: :rolleyes1

Oh I just got back from my 1st WDW Trip Sept 4-10 and boy did I have a time and thanks to you guys I BBB...BOUNCED BBB...BACKED!!!!4 Next Year BUT 2 sTAY oN TOPIC!

1900 Park Fare Dinner-- I dont know what restaurant people ate at, that said it was not good, Where they ate maybe it was not at the same place I ate, and I do know food, I am a good old country girl that cooks a home cooked meal almost every day and have been told that I can throw down, well anyway the food was fresh, hot and replinished, the Prime Rib was great, the bread pudding was awesome and the chicken Marsala was good. and although the character interaction is pretty good it is a bit disorganized and I can only say this due to going to other character meals later on in my trip, this was my first meal at WDW but will I go back? in a HEART BEAT!!

Princess Story Book Breakfast-- Alright hey who can mess up breakfast ??? Well it was hot and fresh, Cheese Potato Casserole, bacon, eggs sausage, and a buffet bar with fresh fruit, danishes, crossiants, lox, cheese, pickeled herring, and I ate what I would normally eat for breakfast and what I did not want at the bar I did not complain about it, I just left it there, many may say that there are things that they dont like, but hey it is a buffet you eat what you like and you dont eat what you dont like, that's what so great about the buffet,This place had all the hot ladies and my 2 year old Prince Evan, loved them oh did he love them, and although he declined the kiss from Belle he gladly accepted the kiss from Mulan! but this is not to be missed it was nice and laid back and we were in and out in about an hour,we were seated right where the rotation begins, it was very organized and a gentelman came by to make sure that we had seen all the princesses. This was when I saw the difference in organization from 1900 Park Fare, and boy the free pics are great!!! Will I go back???? You bet your Tierra I would oh and thats for all the Queens I dont know if you guys new,but I am a 34 year Old Disney Queen!

Crystal Palace Breakfast--- Cute, organized, and just 2 Sweet, food good and the place is so pleasant, and the characters are just that really into character, and oh they were so sweet, made me feel like I was right there in their cartoon world, and how good is that, will I do it again you bet you jar of honey I will!! Hey I may even right a review of all my meals!!!

THAT!!! Sounded wonderful!! Now Im vibrating in my chair at 845am so excited to depart Dec 5th! (yeah 85 days, but still!! lol)

WE have lunch at Arkershus (princess' in NOrway). I contemplated a breakfast, but thought we would get our money's worth out of the lunch better. I hope that was a wise choice.

I'm pretty certain that I read the Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner will be discontinued soon. You may want to check on the allearnet.com site for the exact date. I want to say it will stop in early November.

I recently had my first meal at 1900 Park Fare (breakfast). The food was very good and the "face" characters were a fun change from the "stuffed" characters since the "face" ones can talk. We met Mary Poppins (who asked if we wanted to take her photograph), Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter (who were both a hoot).

I highly recommend it. :sunny:

If I were you I would add the LTT dinner since you do not have any character meals with any of the fab five. LTT is still doing character dinners until early January I believe. I have not eaten there but I think it is served family style which would mean stuff comes out in big bowls.

Hollywood and Vine lunch - the food is ok but the character interaction is amazing especially if your kids love Little Einsteins and Jojo. The character interaction alone is worth the price of eating there to me.

Askershus lunch - the food is good not great but good and the kids selections were very good. Character interaction was good and it was a great way to see the princesses.

Crystal Palace - we had dinner there. The food was very good. The character interaction was good but slow at dinner time. CP is huge and it takes a long time for all of the characters to get around.

Hope this helps. enjoy!

LTT is not got to be character meal beginning sometime in January. I would get it now while you could. I love turkey so I like this one a lot. It is served family style and I just love the characters in the colonial get up. We also love CP for any meal.

Ok...just for the record...we don't have kids, but we still enjoy a good character meal now and then. Two weeks ago we ate at Hollywood and Vine for their Playhouse Disney Character breakfast. Characters aside...the meal was good. The buffet had a lot of choices including healthy( that's right healthy at WDW) choices. Our server was great...good job Bing!!

You will enjoy.

We love CP for lunch the food is always good, Char interaction great & just sitting down for a bit in the MK is wonderful. It has always been away for our kids to recharge.

Just back from WDW and we did 3 character meals (all breakfast)

Tusker House at AK. Food was good (quiche was especially yummy). The "pace" was rather hectic and very little interaction with the characters (were skipped by Donald and Daisy - Daisy came back, Donald did not). Server wasn't very helpful. My girls had a good time (age 3). Nice to get into the park early though.

Hollywood & Vine. Again - kind of chaotic in there - very good server. Lots of interaction with the characters. Food was basic breakfast food - nothing bad but nothing special either. Great if your little one likes JoJo and the Little Einsteins - otherwise, I don't see the benefit in it.

Princess Storybook - my favorite one. We sat in the tower - it was a nice, relaxed pace and surprisingly quiet. The princesses all came around and we had great interactions with all of them. Included a 8X10 photo. Of the 3, this was our favorite.
