We have an upcoming trip in May and I need to book a character meal ( I know..I know..I'm behind!;) )...We are staying offsite so we will not be on the dining plan..this will be our second trip...Our Son is 6 and has high funtioning Autism...he doesn't have an issue with eating but he tends to get overstimulated VERY easily and we also have a daughter who will be 17 months when we are there ( I don't believe she is scared of characters).

Last time we booked the Hollywood Vine with the Little Einsteins/Oso and my son LOOOOOVED IT! :) I only want to do one character meal/reserved table service because honestly...we don't know how we will be from day to day and I don't want to tie us down...especially with the new dining policy. We will have a rental car...so transportation isn't an issue for us. So far...I'm thinking

Ohana for Breakfast?

Garden Grill at Epcot for Dinner?

Crystal Palace (we aren't huge Winnie the Pooh fans)

I think Chef Mickeys would be way to busy/loud for us

Tusker House

Any others?

Thank you!

Garden Grill may a great choice for you becuae you do not have to get up. There is no buffet. Your waiter brings you your food. It is a very traditional turkey, stuffing, potatoes type meal.

After a trip of doing buffet after buffet after buffet and having to run back to the table every time a charachter showed up, this was a nice relief.

Thank you. I do like the idea of Family style. It would be nice being able to just sit and eat and not have to worry about who is going to sit with the kids and get the plates. I will take a closer look at their menu. We prefer the traditional foods!

The best character meal we had in terms of food and not being rushed was Ohana's for breakfast! The food is brought to you and it was very good. The characters come by and they spend a lot of time at each table. There was a conga line at one point but the place is so big that it was not too loud! I highly recommend this one!

My first suggestion was going to be Tusker House, but then I thought better of it.

I would say that Garden Grill might be the best choice. With the lack of people traffic (no buffet), you might find it much more enjoyable. The characters come around more than once (Mickey, Pluto, Chip, Dale). The food is good. For me, the turning is a bit  but I just slap on a patch about an hour before we go in. My family doesn't even feel it, but they love that every time you look up, you aren't looking at the same thing.
