Character Meals at Universal?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out whether it is worthwhile to do a character meal while at Universal. We will be spending 3 nights at ASMo (doing a T-Rex Cafe meal during that time) and then 5 nights at RPR. We're planning to do the luau our last night but our time is flexible otherwise, and I would appreciate any input on the character meals. DS is 7 and DD is 1. If you did one, please let me know which one, and how was the food? Was the "face time" satisfactory? Was the cost reasonable for what you feel you got?

I can't help w/ the ones at the hotels (haven't done any there), but in '07 we did the Spiderman at Confisco's breakfast.

The restaurant is a buffet style breakfast, and because it's not a very large seating capacity, the interaction is great. Spiderman spent a lot of time at our table and Thing 1 & 2 walked around the whole table taking pix.

The buffet has everything you could imagine for breakfast...cereal, french toast, pastries, fruit, etc... only milk and something else isn't included (thinking either juice or coffee?). I know I reviewed in my TR ('07 pt 1 I think?)

As for characters, Spidey, Cat, and Thing 1 & 2 were there. It's been 3 yrs, so I can't remember who else was there...sorry.

I thought the characters interaction was great, the food was 'okay' (nothing great) and the price on par for what you get.

You are staying in the right place for Characters. We usually go to The Islands when Scobby and Shaggy is there [DW & DD fav.] they have 3 nights with different characters, used to be Mon S&S WEd Simpsons and Sat Shrek & Fiona, although characters apparently changed days after last summer. If you call the RPR nearer your time ,they will tell you who and what days they are on. Never made reservations for this , as always plenty of tables available.
