Character Meals at last minute?

Hi there. I was wondering just how booked up these meals are. We can't decide if we are going to take the kids to one. We are at DL Sept 21 to 28. Will we be able to get a ressie somewhere should we decide that is what we want to do (once we get there) or will it be too late? We would prefer lunch over breakfast! I am getting huge butterflies. We have NEVER taken the kids on a big holiday like this before. Usually we camp or drive to visit the grandparents. I don't know why I am so nervous. I have travelled tons in my younger years... just not in the last decade!

You shouldn't have a problem getting a last minute seating at most of the character meals at DL. Ariels Grotto is often easy to get a last minute table at, particularly since you are going in slow season and have the option of going mid-week!

I called dining reservations to confirm some ressies we made prior to going after Storytellers didn't have our PS info for breakfast last week, and they had no record of our Goofy's dinner ressie. I was able to secure the same time/day they had lost record of with no problem the day before we were scheduled to eat there. You should be fine!

I wouldn't worry too much about the character meals, we had to change our times on our Goofy Kitchen PS's an hour before and had no problem. Blue Bayou seemed to be the hardest PS to get last minute to me. While we were waiting for our table several groups were told there was no seats left for the entire day!

BlueBayou takes reservations only now. But, you can make reservations on the same day. I recommend that you make them as soon as you get into the park. Actually, I usually make them the day before and I haven't had any trouble (in off season).

I suggest calling Disney Dining (714-781-3463) to book reservations in advance. Each time I plan to visit the park I make a reservation at either Blue Bayou or Ariel's Grotto and have never had problems. I try to book at least 4-7 days in advance.
