We are going to Disney World for Spring Break 3/29/04. Two of our three children are having birthdays the first week of April and we wanted to celebrate while we are at Disney World. I have PS for dinner at the Libery Tree Tavern for our 2nd night. We also ordered a cake and I told the operator we would be celebrating 2 birthdays. Have any of you ever had a child celebrate a birthday at Disney World? What can we expect?

Also, I'm new to this site and have found it very helpful. I was thinking about ordering lunch vouchers. Can someone give me a link to hotwire and connections? Thanks!:D

Be sure to get birthday buttons from each Guest Relations at the various parks. A CM at AK noticed mine and had me listen to a phone recording of Goofy singing "Happy Birthday" to me. I ate breakfast at Crystal Palace and got to be in a birthday parade with Pooh and a 4 year old celebrating his Ground Hog Day birthday too. We had again mentioned it was my birthday at the podium and got a streamer and lots of Mickey confetti on our table. After the parade, I discovered a cupcake with lit candle and birthday card signed by all the characters at CP. Great fun!

I hope LLT will be fun too!

Welcome to the DIS glbh, and happygirl:grouphug:

Thanks for the info. dgaston! and for the welcome! I'm sure my kids will have a blast!:earsboy:

My son turned 3 on our last trip and it was great! We had dinner at Chef Mickeys and he got TONS of attention! I also reccomend getting the Birthday Button. He loved it when people noticed that it was his birthday.

My daughter had her birthday this year at Liberty Tree Tavern. They were great. She got a card signed by Minnie, and a little cake. (Which was plenty because the food was great, and we ate a lot) Then as we were leaving the manager asked her to come with him because she had a phone call. It was Goofy singing Happy Bithday. So Cute. If you make your ressie right as they open the characters invite you in and they have lots of time to spend with you. Enjoy!

My son's turning 8 during our next WDW trip and he's requested the character breakfast at Donald's Breakastasuarus in AK. Will he get special treatment at breakfast, as opposed to dinner? Breakfast is his favorite meal and he loves Donald and Pluto, hence his choice.

I am taking my grandaughters to WDW.
There birthdays are all close to the time we are going to be there, but not actually on the time we will be there, I wanted to celebrate them there.
Would it be in bad taste to get a button for them to have even though it wont actually be there day.
If I do, should they use them all week or should I just pick a day?

That's what I'm doing with my kids - their birthdays won't actually be on the days we are in the park, but we are celebrating while we are there (since we're spending all that money). We're not planning a seperate birthday party for them at home because they want to celebrate there.

So, You think thats ok?.
Are you going to do the buttons all the time or just one day?
I Just think when people see all three girls, 13,10 and 8 with a button, there going to think I am trying to take advantage.
I plan on a birthday cake for all of them at our resort. On the day we plan on having a resort only day.
But it would be great to let them get a little extra attention at the parks too!
but I want it to be good attention not bad. I dont want to have them getting sour looks from people because they all have the button, when its obviously not all there birthdays.

How many days are you going to be in the park? If you're going to be there at least 3 days then I would have them each wear the button on different days. I think that's what I'm going to do with my two birthday kids.

We went to WDW last September for our oldest DS 3rd Birthday, it was great. On the morning of his B-day we did the character breakfast at Animal Kingdom. We got his B-day pin and once we got to the breakfast, everyone, even the characters noticed it. While dining the CM came to our table, asked for everyone in the resturants attention, Mickey came out, brought DS a card and the whole place sang Happy B-day to him. Later in the day while in some shops at the park, one of the CM put the phone up to DS ear and Goofy sang Happy B-day to him. Once we got back to our room that evening there was a knock on the door (we stayed at ASMO), at the door there was 3 CM with balloons, and a card with a picture of Mickey & Minnie, that the charaters had signed. I had mentioned his birthday at check in.
