I have an 11 year old son and I am trying to figure out the best dining option for our trip. I know that with the MYW Dining plan children over 9 are charged the adult rate. I am confused though, I just checked the prices for some character meals on this site and it states that kids 3-11 are charged a kid's rate. Did I find a loop hole here? :confused3 If this is the case I am not going to get the meal plan. I looked on the Disney website for confirmation but they do not have specific pricing. If anyone knows the answer to this it would save me a phone call...I would appreciate it.

Yes, the ages for a child for character meal is 3-11. It is plainly stated. You bring up a good point. I think the dining plan is a bit extreme myself. Why anyone would consider 9 being an adult is beyond me. My step-daughter is nine and she wouldn't eat anywhere near an adult portion. I guess they do this to help make up some of the money lost on the adult who use the plan. Just my guess though! Hope this has saved you a phone call! princess:

Tinkerbelle32, Thanks so much. I just wanted to double check the ages on that. Why would I get a meal plan for my son and pay adult rate when I am planning to go to at least 5 character meals and only have to pay a child rate without it. The meal plan is not a good deal for anyone with a child in that 9-11 year old range. Might as well milk the kid pricing for as long as we can.
