Hi

When i booked with Disney for our xmas trip they discussed the half board vouchers but they also advised that these do include a character meal with the characters from Toy Story???? Which restaurant is this and has anyone ever had this experience?

When we went in March 2009 im sure the meal vouchers we had then did not include a character meal so just checking if this info is right as i dont want to book and find out its not!

Also which restaurant is the best for a character meal? we have never done this before and i really want to make our xmas trip special for our boys :)

Hmmmm.... :confused3

The Cowboy Cookout meal is included on the basic Half Board vouchers (ie not the PLus or the Premium which covers Cafe Mickey and Auberge, respectively). The CCO has Woody appearing, and I think Jessie is sometimes there, but she wasn't last week when we ate there :sad2:

We really liked CCO - as well as Woody we met Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto. We thought the food was OK value for Disney - good burgers for me and DH (with deep fried wedges), chicken for DD, and a burger for DS, followed by pudding :)

Hope this helps :goodvibes

Thank you Disney-Fan, did you have half board vouchers?

Im looking at the vouchers and trying to work out if its worth doing for all 4 of us but probably with the plus vouchers rather than standard.

If you get the plus vouchers then you can use those in cafe mickey. We saw Jessie in there on our trip over half term.

I think the meal they are talking about is probably the cowboy cookout but it would not be worth paying for that with plus vouchers because the adult plus vouchers cost more than the E26 which the meal in the cowboy cookout costs.:)

Thank you Disney-Fan, did you have half board vouchers?.

Yep, we had the Plus vouchers although as the OP has said the CCO costs less than the face value of the vouchers.. the concensus on here is that Half Board vouchers do not save you money at the moment (mainly due to the poor exchange rate) but we liked having paid for half our meals in advance as it helps spread the cost - and also means that you're not feeling like yuor constantly shelling out for food :thumbsup2

Have a great trip :goodvibes

We had the plus vouchers and so we didn't loose money we spread them across two meals. We used the childrens vouchers to pay for them at cowboy cookout but paid cash for the adults. We then used the adult vouchers at face value in annettes - for the 5 of us we only ended up paying about E20. Using them like this didn't save us money but we didn't loose money either and we had meals paid for in advance.

I am thinking of doing the CCO as the tea party with the pastries as oppose to a full meal as it is cheaper as well, will make our decision on the half board vouchers nearer the time i think and see about exchange rates etc.
