We went last December when my boys were 7 and 10. They loved Chef Mickey's and we also did Liberty Tree Tavern but I believe that has now changed and there aren't characters. Also, are your boys big into characters? Mine weren't so perhaps something like the T-Rex restaurant Downtown Disney or other themed restaurant might be more enjoyable.
Last year, my son turned 12 on our trip. He enjoyed the character meals, which kind of surprised me. We did Garden Grill, which was VERY low key, and has "boy" characters. And we did Crystal Palace for my daughter the Pooh fan, but he enjoyed it too, and I got a picture of him with Tigger.
Is the character meal going to be a surprise? If not, the boys may want to pick a meal or two. Maybe 3 options depending upon the time of year you are going. It may be hard to get an ADR at some of the character meals.
Let us know what you decide!![]()
My DS11 wasn't too into character meals on our last trip in Feb. The only one we did was Chef Mickey's breakfast. He had fun, but got kind of embarassed by the character interaction after a while because there were a lot of "little" kids who were waiting to see them at the next table. This may be because he's 5ft7 and doesn't look 11 (and he knows it..), he gets embarassed easily![]()
I just asked him and his favorites are Boma (#1!), Ohana and Sci Fi in that order.
