Character Meal for 3 year old

Hi all, my DH and 3 yr old DD are going to WDW the week after Easter. It will be my daughter's first trip and the first trip for my husband and I since we were kids. We are getting into town on Monday and thought it would be fun to go to a character dinner that night before we hit the parks on Tuesday. Was wondering if anyone had any reccommendations or suggestions?

I would suggest Chef Mickey's. It's one of the more "fun" character meals. That or Crystal Palace. They both do the whole music, napkin twirling thing. She'd probably have a blast! Hope you do too!

I would do Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort (no park admittance required!) its a great fun time and a 3 year old will love it!

Another option, if your child is more of a Winnie the Pooh fan rather than a Mickey Minnie Pluto Goofy fan, is to go to Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. You DO need park admission to get in tho, and if you weren't planning on seeing or doing anything that night other than dinner, it may be hard for child to be in presence of the castle and bustle of MK. But Crystal Palace promises a great time with same type of atmosphere, but with Winnie and Tigger and Piglet and Eeyore, etc. :O)

if you don't want to give up a park admission day, then go to Chef Mickeys. Definately.

Chef Mickeys is the best. Have 3 sons and they have all enjoyed it at all the different ages. Will have a great time if you choose Chef Mickeys

I second the recommendation for Chef Mickeys. We did Chef Mickeys for dinner our first night and it was a great way to start our trip.

We have eaten at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. I like both a lot but the atmosphere at Crystal Palace is more quiet and the breakfast is really, really good!

We have been twice to the Crystal Palace, both for breakfast. First when my daughter was 2 1/2 and then 3 1/2. She loved it both times. The breakfast is awesome. We are going back in October and my husband and I are already looking forward to the breakfast.

Personally, I like having it in the park....you can eat and get right back to playing.

If you don't mind doing an early breakfast, after you are done you are some of the first people in the park.

I would either go towards the beginning of the seating for dinner. That way you shouldn't have to wait as long to get a table and you can make sure you see all the characters.

Chef Mickey's is louder but food is comparable at both. It would probably depend on which characters the young one likes if it was me. Pooh at Crystal or Mickey & friends at Chef Mickey's.

We went out first night at 5:10pm. It was early enough that my DS was really able to enjoy himself.

We also did breakfast there twice and enjoyed it even more than dinner.
