Hi. DH and I are taking our very excited twin boys who will almost be 7 in April.  We are staying at the Polynasian. Finding it very hard to make a decision for dinning reservations. :surfweb: One place is Chef Mikey's...heard it the best for character dinning (they don't care about Winnie or princessess. It seems most people go for breakfast. But we want to get to the part. Is it ok for dinner or is the experience much better for breakfast?

We are going for 7 night and getting a 6 day pass (plan to do Mk and E 2x depending on what they like the best!)

thanks,
J

Is it ok for dinner or is the experience much better for breakfast?

The experience is the same, but my family thinks the food is better at breakfast.

The character experience is about the same for both breakfast and dinner, but I personally think character breakfasts are nicer. During breakfast you will see kids and families who are excited to go to the parks and have a fun-filled day. During dinner you will see kids and families who were either disappointed with the parks and attractions, or are simply tired. This means a lot of crying children, yelling parents, etc. I don't want to sound so negative, but this is from my experience at a character meal for dinner so, depending on the way people look at it, they could have a much better or worse experience. :)

Love Chef Mickey's:worship: :worship: :worship: . Both breakfast & dinner are good. But if you have to pick one then I would say dinner.:thumbsup2

interaction is the same at both meals. Disney has a policy that all CMs are on stage anytime they are in front of the public. We usually watch Spectro at the very end of the parade route and the CMs are still going through their "dance" routines even when they have passed the last guest. It's a real sign of the professionalism of the CMs.

Since the character interaction is similar I think the choice comes down to what fits your family's touring and dining style. Most of our meals are lunch or dinner because of how we eat. CM is our departure day meal though and we usually have a late breakfast (brunch).

A great tip that we followed when our children were little. Do breakfast, last seating. Families are leaving and the characters will have more time to spend fewer families as the resturant empties out. Same for dinner but that can be a little late for most.

Breakfast, is starts the day off with a bang!

We also LOVE Chef Mickeys for either meal.
If we do breakfast, then we book a late time for brunch around 10 to 10:30. This is behind the crowd and it really fills us up for the day.

Or we do dinner, which we also love.

This and Crystal Palace are our 2 must do's each trip.
We will do one for a brunch and one for a dinner each trip.

My twins are 8 yr olds. We did CM for dinner in Sept., & it was their favorite restaurant of the week! Characters & food was great.
