Has anyone booked a character meal or any kind of meal before the park opened? Do you really get an edge getting in the park early. Are lines even shorter if you get there that much earlier, or is it worth it?

I handle my breakfasts, within the parks, one of two ways. If it's a regular park opening day (9:00) I try for a seating around 7:45-8:00. That usually gets me done with breakfast around 8:45. Depending on the park you're in, and where in the park you are, you may get a jump on stuff.
If it's an EMH morning, I get a seating towards the end of the breakfast seating times...around 9:45-10ish.

I had an ADR at Donald's Breakfastosaurus one year before park opening. We got done just after 9AM and we still had an advantage to those just getting to the park for the opening.

The photo ops? Priceless. ;)

We did CP last May. 8:05 adr. It was awesome!!! We got there, ate, saw all the characters and were ready to go! We took some awesome pics going down main street with no one else there and some great pics of the castle with just my kids. After breakfast we went through the castle and the rope stopped us right on the other side of the castle. They dropped the rope and we were the first people in line at Dumbo!!! Super cool. We are doing it again in Jan.

it worked out well with donald's breakfastasaurus we were the first ones on EE. i dont know how it will work out with the new tusker house.

personally i think its worth it...character breakfasts r fun and get the day started off right...plus its better than having to wait in lines to take a picture with your favorite characters

We just did one on Nov 11, incredible!
The park was empty!
We went to Crystal Palace for Tigger and Pooh breakfast
Food was awesome, once we were done, we hit Fantasy Land 1st
We rode all the rides within a half hr-
That never happens! Especially Peter Pan
Then hit the rest of the park

When we walked by later, even Small World had a huge line-it was great
Do it, we plan on doing that again next time :)
