Character expansion gone?

Last November we went to WDw and the "character expansion" was in full force. Characters EVERYWHERE!!!

Just got back about a week ago and the parks were PACKED, but hardly any characters out and about. Was this due to the heat or has the "character expansion" demised?

I was in the parks all last week and saw just as many characters as ever. Maybe your timing was just a bit off. My favorite is the preparade set at the the Studios on NY street. We got Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto, Ghepetto, Pinocohio, Gideon, Cinderella, Snow White, Meg, Hercules, Alladin, Jasmine, Tweedle-dee and Tweedle Dum, and a couple others I am forgetting all in about 20 mins.

Show, is this a new character spot at MGM, I don't ever remember seeing that many characters that far back in the park - could you be more specific on the location? also, is this listed in the park guide or was it a random appearance?

This has been a standard at the Studios for at least the last three years. The parade/Fantasmic cast performs one set near the arch at the end of New York St. This set normally takes place at 4:30pm. You can ask a character greeter at the Studios for a more specific time.

I was in the park from 5/14-18 and was amazed at how many characters I saw. Mainly in the the Magic Kingdom. This is compared to the last time we were there 2 years ago so maybe I missed the peek but there were enough characters to go around as far as I'm concerned.

This is so weird. I guess are timing was way off. We only saw TWO charcters out and about! The rest we saw at charcater meals, Toontown in the lines in that bullding or during the pardes. Glad to know others saw them. I was just wondering cause my daughter's autogragh book was full from November, this time she only got autograghs from our meals and Toontown. I'll look for them next trip then.
