We are not staying in the resort which means we are eligible for the extended hours. I would like to make a reservation for a character dinner at 8:30 but am not sure if we can enter the park early for the reservation. Has this happened to anyone before?

Are you saying that you want to enter the park for a dinner ADR without using up a day on your pass? If so, no, you can not do that.

You can book a character dinners at Chef Mickey's which is in the Contemporary, Mickey's BBQ at fort Wilderness or 1900 Park Fare at The Grand Floridian, without using your pass.

For breakfast, you could also do ohana at The Poly

Oh wait...I think I know what you are asking. Are you talking about breakfast ADR that is during EMH?

They have a special line at the entrance that will allow you in during EMH if you have an ADR (eservation). But you will only be allowed to eat (and shop) until EMH is over. You will also use a day's entrance for that day.

:confused3 That part of the pp's answer confuses me. But to answer the OP...yes, there is a list at the gate of people who have ADRs before park opening. You are allowed to enter and go to the resturant.

I think it meant to OP wouldn't be able to do the attractions since they weren't EMH eligible.

OP, if you're talking about a character breakfast (not a dinner), then I would make the ADR on a non-EMH day. To me, the main reason for a pre-opening ADR is to get the AMAZING pictures with no one in the background. If you're really talking about a dinner, then I have no idea what your question is. :rotfl:

I am sorry if I confused you. I was struggling with how to answer the original question, since it could be taken a couple of ways. (I think it was the use of "dinners" that threw me off :)

But I'd be happy to clarify my last post. ..I stay offsite all the time, so I am not eligible for EMH. If I have an ADR during EMH hours, they will let me in "early" so I can make my ADR; if I have any spare time after my meal before the gates open for regular people, I can shop or eat some more. I would not be able to get fastpasses or ride any attractions.

they do let you in at the gate early though right? I assume if it's not opened yet when you go in that it would be before you come out. I'm doing this soon, so I hope it goes smoothly!
