For our trip in September, we're going to book Goofy's Kitchen. I would like to maximize character interaction, but my dear old Ma would like to go during a slower time. We were thinking breakfast or brunch, but have not ruled out dinner yet. When do you think the best time to book Goofy's Kitchen will be?

Question Number 2: We're REALLY hoping to see Max(Goofy's son) when we go. Perhaps I got it wrong but it just seems like he's easier to find and a more frequent fella at DLR than at WDW. People have said, and I've seen the pictures of Max at the Minnie and Friends meal. But we've already got our hearts set on GK...does Max ever show up at GK? And if we don't see him there, is there anywhere else in DLR where we'd have a good chance of seeing him? (Dining or Parks, doesn't matter)

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We have done Breakfast in the Park with Minnie twice and Max has been there both times. He is one of my kids favorites too! I was very pleased with the quality of Minnie's coffee!

Max does occasionally show up at Goofy's, though from what I hear from people he does not seem to be regular. He is part of that rotating cast of guest stars who pop in here and there, and I THINK he may be more inclined to show up for dinner than for breakfast. I have not seen him at breakfast in a long time. He does seem to be at Minnie & Friends quite a bit from the pictures I have seen so you MAY want to take a chance on M&F if seeing Max is super important.

As for slower times vs. busy times....well, when we go to Goofy's we do the early breakfast - and I am talking like in the 7:00 a.m. hour. Now, at that time of the morning we have not encountered TOO many other people dining. They seem to trickle in as the morning progresses. But where there are fewer guests dining, there may be fewer characters. And likewise, when there are lots of people eating, there may be more characters. I have heard conflicting reports about dinner - some say it is really busy at dinner time (hence, all the characters), and some say it is not so busy then. Some folks say that late breakfast/brunch (like maybe in the 11:00 a.m. hour) is the way to go because the people have gone into the parks but the characters linger on.

So we have all kind of had our own experiences at Goofy's but it may not necessarily be that way all the time. I remember it to be quite busy when I ate there for dinner years ago. We prefer the early breakfast because we like breakfast food better, it is less expensive and it is not extremely busy. We usually see Goofy, Chip, Dale, Baloo and Pluto, and then others wander in as the morning progresses.

We saw Max at DCA on the street near the Hyperion theater (where Aladdin is). We did not see him in Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast or dinner.
