So I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to buy character meals using our PAP or to buy them from LMT.

With my PAP, I will get 15% off the price of the meal, but the meal doesn't include gratuity or taxes like the LMT vouchers. I never tip less than 15% so that would wash away my AP savings and I would still be left with the tax on the meal, which will likely make the meal more expensive using my AP (unless I'm missing something here).

Am I looking at this wrong? My brain is on Disney overload between trying to plan our DL & DCL trips along with several camping trips this summer (and trying to fit in a quick trip to DL in October and early December). I may not be thinking this all the way through so any input is appreciated.

The gratuity is automatically included when you pay for Goofys. You don't choose to pay 15%. We have a DAP and the LMT vouchers only save us 50 cents/adult and $1/child (for brunch during peak season). Your PAP may have a slightly better discount (but for brunch only).

I just use my PAP for character meals. I forget the discount, but I think Ariel's included 12% gratuity automatically (even for party of 2). What I like about not doing the vouchers is it gives you flexibility. If your changes change it is merely a call to Disney Dining.
