Character Dining - H&V or Garden Grill

We are thinking about doing a character breakfast and have narrowed it down to either H&V with the Disney Jr. characters or the Garden Grill (farmer Mickey looks fun). Does anyone have experience at either of these meals? Which would you recommend? I have heard some mixed reviews about the food at H&V. Thanks for any input! We are traveling in late August and staying at Pop.

Oh no! Have you done any other character dining breakfasts? I've been to Ohana and thought it was fun but the food was meh. I forgot to mention our group is myself, my BFF and her 6 year old son.

Well I did forget to mention that we did H&V for breakfast and GG for dinner, if that matters, the food was bad at both. And GG just has awful decor and a really weird smell.

We enjoyed TH breakfast a lot! I've also heard good things about Cape May and Crystal Palace. We are trying Cape May next month, and I'm still trying to find a reservation for CP breakfast so hopefully I can snag that also. We have done lunch at Crystal Palace several times and love it.

I have a different opinion.....H&V was excellent for breakfast a couple years ago. Food was fresh and hot.
We did Garden Grill for lunch last year and it was very good.

We did Garden Grill 2 weeks ago for breakfast and my DD(6) is still talking about the character interaction there! The food is basic, the cinnamon roll bake is yummy. But the characters and the service were FANTASTIC

We enjoyed breakfast at both . I think it depends which characters you prefer and if you have a preference for a buffet!

I think the family-style service is stellar if you have small children.

Completely love GG!!!! It was our favorite character meal!!! Which is funny since it was added as an afterthought!!
