This will be our first time dining at WDW. I haven't been there in 8 years! My son is 8 and our friend's son will be 10 when we go. Are there any dining experiences pirate related? I'm not sure the boys will enjoy any princess dining. The girls will be 12 and 15 and soooo beyond princesses. LOL Any character dining ideas that you think the boys(and girls) will enjoy would be greatly appreciated.pirate:

I have a DS2 and DS6 and at the parks, they loved Garden Grill at Epcot. They also liked Crystal Palace at MK with Pooh and friends. At the Resort, Cape May breakfast was our favorite.

My sons are 6 and 9. Their favorite dining experiences are:

Garden Grille at Epcot (character meal)
Crystal Palace at MK (Winnie the Pooh characters- my kids still enjoy)
Ohana dinner (no characters at dinner, but breakfast buffet has characters)
Hoop Dee Doo (no traditional disney characters, but great performance)
Chef Mickey's (Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Pluto - but very expensive if paying out of pocket)
Liberty Tree Tavern (no characters but great Thanksgiving style meal)

Are you on the dining plan? If not, keep in mind that these table service meals will cost big bucks. Also, a 10 yr old is considered an adult at buffets (I believe).

There are no pirate character meals, or really boy specific character meals. The non-princess character meals are:

Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
Ohana
1900 Park Fare Breakfast
Garden Grill
Cape May
Tusker House
Hollywood & Vine Breakfast (this is aimed at the preschool set)

All children 10 and older are priced out as adults for tickets and dining.

My kids really liked:
Tusker House
Crystal Palace
'Ohana

All were breakfasts.

Ohana Breakfast, Cape May Breakfast & Chef Mickeys dinner. But I have heard good things about Tusker house. Also think about Whispering Canyon not a CM but my son really likes it.

There is Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates at Hollywood and Vine at DHS. Me and my son are going there in May.

DS12 really enjoys Tusker House. It is too bad there isn't a pirate themed character meal. I would definitely go if there was.

Helpful suggestions thank you. We are heading out with 3 boys and so princess meals are simply not going to happen!

My son loves Chef Mickeys, Tusker House, Crystal Palace and Ohana breakfast. He also loved 1900 Park Fair dinner with Cinderella and the step sisters. They are seriously hilarious and this meal has the best character interaction in my opinion.
