Character Dining at Hotels if you're off-site

MY 2YO DD Scooby Doo. I want to take her to the dinner at the Hard Rock to see the Scooby characters. We are not staying there and will be taking a shuttle from Nick Hotel to Universal. Is it practical to walk over to the hotel for dinner and walk back to US to catch the shuttle home? Thanks.

Yes, HRH is right next to Universal Studios and the buses pick up between the two.
